About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a ABL Senior Relationship Manager in Wells Fargo Capital Finance's Business Finance Asset Based Lending group.

The Relationship Manager position within Business Finance ABL is focused on middle market companies, privately held, private equity sponsored and to a lesser degree public.   Primary responsibilities include: credit and administration of a portfolio of sole lender, agented, and participation ABL loans; analyzing collateral and financial performance of borrowers; reviewing and interpreting credit loan documents, working closely with the Middle Market Regional Banking, Equipment Finance, Investment Banking  and other Wells Fargo team members to build strong relationships, provide superior service and advice, enhance credit and other economic opportunities with customers within the existing portfolio base, and mitigate credit, compliance, regulatory, and financial crimes risk. The Relationship Manager position will be capable to handle the more complex deals and provide guidance to junior level Relationship Managers


In this role, you will:

Meet with portfolio clients (travel involved) and Wells Fargo partners

Actively work with Portfolio and Regional Portfolio Managers and other Senior management in evaluating, structuring, and executing transactions within the portfolio through the preparation of credit modification memorandums that assess assets, leverage, key risk factors, repayment sources, cash flows, management, and risk ratings

Perform industry, company, and collateral due diligence to assess credit risk

Support and advise underwriting functions for new client transactions entering portfolio

Provide coaching and mentoring of Analysts and more junior level Relationship Managers

Monitor and evaluate/maintain appropriate risk ratings

Independently resolve moderately complex loan queries, resolve client issues, and achieve business objectives

Stay current on policy, procedure, and compliance guidelines and incorporate such guidance into various compliance related matters on a recurring basis

Utilize Optimist spreading tool for spreading/analyzing financial statements

Complete periodic professional development training as scheduled

Complete Wholesale Banking training as scheduled.


Required Qualifications:

5+ years of secured or specialized lending relationship management or portfolio management experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications:

Knowledge and understanding of asset based lending or middle market commercial banking

Completion of formal credit training program​

Experience in reviewing and accurately interpreting loan documentation, collaborating with deal teams and underwriting credit facilities for middle market and large corporate borrowers.

Strong knowledge of large corporate lending and working knowledge of ABL and Capital markets

Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy

Effective Organizational, multi-tasking and prioritizing skills to meet deadline driven environment

Ability to lead and coordinate team members across Wells Fargo to close and structure transactions.

Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills


Job Expectations:

Travel up to 20%
