Element are currently recruiting for a Senior Safety, Health and Environment Manager to support our BUILT Environment business unit, with locations across the EMEA region.
As a member of the BUILT Environment senior leadership team. this position will partner with business unit leadership and management teams to agree strategic priorities and support the implementation of our SHE program.
Based from the UK, this position reports directly to our Business Unit Vice President and will support multiple locations across the business. This is a great opportunity to join a leading player within the Testing, Inspection and Certification sector, Making Tomorrow Safer Than Today....
Responsibilities
Support Business Leaders to:
Integrate SHE program into daily operationsUnderstand their role and responsibilities and ensure appropriate resources are in placeProvide expertise, guidance and critical challengeSupport creation, monitor and report on progress against improvement plansCoach leadership and operations teamsSupports documentation of annual improvement plansCoordinating and supporting the SHE Business Partners across our operating divisions Facilitate completion of audits and management system reviewsEnsure business units achieve compliance with applicable regulatory and Element SHE program requirementsSupport mergers, acquisitions and capital expenditure reviews as necessaryAssess opportunities for improvement, shares best practice across ElementCommunicate and engage effectively across all levelsMonitors and reports on improvement plan progress to BU VP / EMEA SHE DirectorDrive SHE focus programs such as safety improvement week Skills / Qualifications Degree in Risk/ Loss /Safety Management, Engineering, Occupational Safety, or other related fields or an equivalent combination of education and experienceMust have a strong understanding of country / local safety, health and environmental laws and legislation8-10 years experience in a Safety, Health and Environmental leadership role with management experience, ideally with EMEA exposure Proficiency in MS OfficeExcellent communication, both written and verbalAble to enforce regulations and engage in conflict resolution Capability to analyse data and provide evidence-based recommendationsConfident working under stressful situationsStrong understanding of governmental safety and health regulations / legislationDriving Licence required due to travel across site
