This position is responsible for performing work on gas compression equipment components and instruments (e.g., pumps, controllers, valves, etc.) at shop location. Performs other tasks as needed or requested.
Principle Responsibilities and Duties Fully understands and utilizes standard operating procedures relative to gas compressor package. Knowledgeable on engine repair all make and models. Replace and overhaul compressors, checking bearings, crankshaft, etc. Has a thorough knowledge of the use of dial indicators, feeler gauges, and dial calipers, inside and outside micrometers. Utilizes thorough knowledge of wear limits and tolerances of different types of compressors, compressor cylinders and engines. Reads and comprehends manufacturers specification related material. Understand basic blueprints. Must have the ability to install compressor package related components such as, preparing setting and leveling skids, engines, compressor frames and coolers, Can work unassisted with significant decision-making ability. Can oversee test runs and quality checks. Must be able to complete and file all inspection reports. Develop and train Shop I and Shop II level mechanics. Must be able to work with the team in developing improved work processes for the department. Can complete tasks without direction. Adheres to all company and government safety regulations. Attends required safety meetings. Generate parts list. Writes and understand customer scope and communicate any discrepancies and provide suggested corrective actions and assist in defining new scope before continuing. Charge labor and material to correct work order. Maintain a clean and safe work area to include proper disposal of waste. Qualified for Forklift operation. Qualifications A high school diploma or an equivalent 10+ years’ experience in engine, compressor mechanics, production equipment and gas compression.

Physical Requirements Must be able to work under pressure. Must be able to work with the team in developing improved work processes for the department. Ability to lift, pull, push minimum of 50lbs. Ability to stand, kneel, bend, and stretch over and under pipeline equipment. Ability to work in all climates and temperatures to do repairs on equipment.
