Senior Shop Technician

Brief Description:

The Senior Shop Technician will operate in the local remanufacture and service facility at a leading level performing in a wide variety of situations producing a wide range of products. Duties include leading assignments of equipment maintenance, diagnosis, troubleshooting and repair of equipment. Coordinating maintenance related projects and providing appropriate feedback to the job site manager and or management team.  

Detailed Description:

Is recognized as a leader and can train other shop technicians and/or customers. Seen as a subject matter expert with expert skills in assembling equipment manufactured or serviced by Warrior.   Oversee the assembly as appropriate using drawings and schematic(s).  Perform installation, training, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repairs on but not limited to:  OEM & Non-OEM Traveling equipment Top Drives hydraulic and electric   Blocks   OEM & Non-OEM Iron Roughneck systems  OEM & Non-OEM Automated catwalk systems  OEM & Non-OEM Power End’s – Mud, Frac & Cement pumps  Read, interpret, and Teach fellow Technicians how to follow standard engineering drawings, specifications, bill of materials and other written work instructions/procedures to accurately assemble rework and/or repair equipment and products according to OEM specifications.  Ensure that quality of product produced & quality work checks is completed to meet Warrior manufacturing, quality, OEM, & Safety work instructions.  Complete required documentation in accordance with established safety & quality standards & procedures   Work instructions, FAT, FIT or Commissioning.  Set up and operate a variety of machinery, tooling, and test equipment; perform any rework to validate that equipment is built & evaluated in accordance with OEM specifications.  Recognized as an expert trouble shooter with recommending changes in testing, manufacturing and/or design processes.  Assist in the development of operating procedures for assembled equipment. Provide work direction, mentoring, modeling, or training to less experienced technicians or rig personnel under the guidance of the Shop Manager.  Recommend changes in manufacturing and/or design processes.  Consult with supervision regarding:  Personnel, timeline deliveries, & scope of work requirements.  Maintenance & Tooling needs for operations.  Quality or procedure problems.  Identify product defects and complete appropriate documentation with supervision for NC’s / CA’s.   Perform major overhaul in the shop on several types of equipment.  Occasional travel (less than 10%) might be required for determining production scope of work or equipment failure analysis after delivery.

Ability to learn & uphold company specific systems, core values, policies, and procedures.  Effective leadership, communication, mentoring & team building skills.   Ability to multitask and be detail oriented.  Excellent written and verbal English communication skills  Able to effectively manage time and prioritize projects to meet established deadlines.  Ability to proficiently use MS Office Suite to develop presentations, correspondences, reports, and schedules (Word, Excel, Power Point, Project etc.) 

Physical ability to:  

Lift and carry fifty pounds independently while walking on uneven surfaces.  Bend, stoop, kneel, twist, and crawl occasionally during visits to the field and operational work areas.  Listen for unusual noises that signify equipment and or machinery problems.  Stay alert and focused including during occasional extended work periods.  Maintain spatial orientation and awareness to safely move around the work environment with many moving objects including overhead machinery.  Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all designated times.  Ability to travel as needed to visit worksites and support business units; may require minimal to remote locations and/or overnight stay(s) outside normal office area.  Ability to work on weekends and be on call after hours or travel as needed with limited notice as needed. 

 Minimum Qualifications: 

High school diploma or GED        7 + years Shop or Industrial Equipment maintenance experience or equivalent credits  Or 5 + years’ relevant oil and gas work experience in a maintenance, manufacturing, remanufacturing, repair, or field service environment of Industrial equipment.  State-issued driver’s license and be eligible to drive a Company vehicle, including ability to meet requirements of Company's Vehicle Use Agreement and Driving Policy 

 Preferred Qualifications: 

Vocational or technical training: Millwright, Journeyman Mechanic or Electrician or Hydraulics certificate or Trade School Degree  Oil & Gas equipment assembly, teardown, installation, rig up /down experience & troubleshooting of:   Warrior equipment, Top Drives, Mud Pumps, Iron Roughnecks, Automated Catwalks, Power End   Working knowledge of ERP systems (purchasing/inventory/sales/work order management software) 

 Additional Details: 

This position requires the person to work in both office locations and outdoors in all types of weather conditions, including precipitation, cold / heat, high wind, and turbulent conditions. The Technician will be occasionally exposed to the typical conditions of the local area where the drilling operations and rigs are located. The Technician must work with an emphasis on safety for themselves and others including coworkers and third parties. Also, must be able to work closely with others and under deadlines including time-sensitive response situations and be willing to work extended schedules that will include working days, and occasionally nights, weekends and holidays.
