The role
As a Senior Signalling Technician, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. By working closely with the Signalling Team Leader in carrying out rail installation works to ensure all trains are moving safely.

 

Day-to-day, you’ll assist the Team Leader with signalling disconnections and reconnections, signal maintenance testing, whilst ensuring all work is compliant and carried out safely.  

 

Carry out SMTH (Signal Maintenance Testing Handbook) testing as directed by the Signalling Team Leader Complete all documentation/paperwork as required within the required time scales Undertake other work as directed by the Signalling Team Leader, ensuring all work complies with current quality and Group/Line Standards Ensure all work is carried out in a safe and controlled manner Work on own as directed by Signalling Team Leader

 

This position involves manual work. This could include lifting, bending, using tools or standing for extended periods of time.

 

This role is full time, 140 hours over 4 weeks and is based at Cadder Yard however, travel to sites within the UK is required.

 

Essential experience of the Senior Signalling Technician: 

Excellent ability to use hand and powered tools Able to understand and carry out instructions Able to relay information concisely Able to work as member of a multifunctional team Able drive or willing to learn Proven experience or previous background working with either electrical or mechanical equipment

 

Qualifications for the Senior Signalling Technician:

PTS (Personal Track Safety), Lookout, COSS, and SMTH
