\nSite Reliability Engineer Manager, Foundation - Seattle  \n

 

\nWhy We Have This Role\n

We are looking for a support engineer who is interested in becoming a team lead or manager for an SRE team to support our Gov1 environment in the Foundation Product Unit. This person will lead a team of US based Support Engineers whose primary mission will be supporting Gov1 activities for non-US teams in the Foundation org. This is a unique opportunity to start the first SRE team at Qualtrics.

Must be a US Citizen or Green Card holder (permanent resident) 

\n\n\n

Must agree to Rules of Behavior for accessing Gov1 

\n\n\n\n

Rules generally entail:

Following IT and Security policies with regards to access, control and device usage

\n\n\n

Protecting customer data and following policies around confidentiality

\n\n\n

Staying up to date with required company training

\n\n\n\n\n

Must be able to participate in on-call Rotation which will include the potential for off hour pages

\n\n\n \nHow You’ll Find Success\n\nLead and manage a team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability\nCollaborate with multiple engineering teams within Foundation locally and internationally\nManage and prioritize the team’s day to day activities\nDefine SLAs for various Gov1 Activities (patching, deployments, feature flippers, etc)\nManage On-Call Rotation for Gov1 incidents on Foundation’s non-US teams\nDemonstrate great interpersonal skills and a desire to collaborate - both in-person and online\nManage tasks and responsibilities as well as lead and delegate to team members\nDemonstrate analytical and problem-solving skills\nIdentify setbacks and shortcomings.\nShow a strong interest in developing the SRE Role and what that looks like for Qualtrics\nHire and develop a team of SE/SRE \n\n \nHow You’ll Grow\n\nBuilding a team from the ground up\nSetting the right culture and expectations for your team\nWorking with teams across the globe to understand their needs and use cases\nFinding opportunities to improve our processes and deployment\n\n \nThings You’ll Do\n\nPartner with non-US Foundation teams to support their Gov1 needs and requirements\nPartner with non-US Foundation teams to triage and analyze customer reported issues in the Gov1 Environment \nAutomate as much as possible (builds, monitoring, alerting, etc)\nDefine and implement best practices for site reliability, scalability, performance optimization, and managing costs.\nIdentify trends in operations, quality, and performance and work with teams to prioritize, improve and operationalize\nImplement and monitor alerts based on quality and performance trends\n\n \nWhat We’re Looking For On Your Resume \n\nAbility to read code (like Java, Node, Go)\nAbility to read application logs\nFamiliarity with one of the scripting languages (Bash, Python, Perl or other)\nAbility to write SQL queries and execute common DB operations (extracts, mass delete, etc)\nExperience in diagnosing customer production issues\nExperience building and/or managing software deployment pipelines (CI/CD)\nExcellent English communication skills, written and spoken\nAnalytical thinking\nProactive approach to issues and trends \nExperience as an SRE or SRE Lead\n\n \nWhat You Should Know About This Team\n\nThis is a new team that is forming out of a need to better support our Gov1 environment for non-US teams\nSince it is a new team you will have the ability to carve out how the team works and interacts with its internal customers\nThe SRE role is new to Qualtrics and this position will help define it!\n\n \nOur Team’s Favorite Perks and Benefits\n\nWe take pride in our offices design aiming at cultivating creativity from our rooftop views to open and collaborative work spaces\nOn top of the standard benefits package (medical, dental, vision, life insurance, etc) we provide snacks, drinks, and free lunches in our office\nWe believe in sharing Qualtrics success which is part of the compensation for all employees\n\n \nThe Qualtrics Hybrid Work Model: Our hybrid work model is elegantly simple: we all gather in the office three days a week; Mondays and Thursdays, plus one day selected by your organizational leader. For full-time positions, this pay range is for base per year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on location, job-related knowledge, education, skills, and experience. A sign-on bonus and restricted stock units may be included in an employment offer, in addition to a range of medical, financial, and other benefits, based on eligibility criteria.
