The Katherine Thomas High School Program in Rockville, MD, a private special education school serving 9-12 grade students with language, learning, sensory motor disabilities and/or high functioning autism, has an opening for a Senior Social Worker. This is an 11-month position. EOE This position would be responsible for supervising all members of the high school counseling services staff, which includes social workers and the behavior program specialist. The Senior Social Worker will oversee case reviews, parent support groups, family support and education, parent conferences, interdisciplinary team meetings, liaison with community agencies, student counseling, behavior management, and appropriate clinical record keeping to assure that school standards for clinical accountability/quality programming are upheld. The Senior Social Worker will provide supervision and training of all related staff and ensure consistent parent communication regarding behavior programs and individual student plans. Requirements for the Senior Social Worker: + Must hold a master's degree in social work or a related counseling degree, appropriate licensure and MSDE certification. + Experience with educational settings with special needs populations and interdisciplinary teams. Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in counseling or school social work, and experience implementing PBIS or other positive behavior intervention programs is required. + An active LCSW or equivalent state licensure reflecting advanced degree is required. + At least 2 years of supervisory experience: and must maintain current licensure and certification status consistent with state and professional standards.
