The typical starting salary range for this role is determined by a number of factors including skills, experience, education, certifications and location. The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role. Some roles at Liberty Mutual have a corresponding compensation plan which may include commission and/or bonus earnings at rates that vary based on multiple factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.

As a Senior Data Engineer, you’ll partner closely with the aligned Product Owner(s) to grasp the vision for your squad’s services and capabilities. You'll develop a comprehensive understanding of the diverse business needs and goals of our internal and external customers. By seamlessly orchestrating business priorities with organizational and team technical objectives, you'll engage in a continuous stream of intriguing, empowering work that makes a significant impact. In this role, you would:

Work within modern architectures, frameworks, and tools.Contribute to customer/party technical vision along with peers and architects.Partner with the Product Owner(s) to develop and continually refine a roadmap that drives technology modernization alongside business priorities.Partner with teammates in the development of the customer ecosystem and technical standards based on business plan and vision.Propose and implement improvements to increase process efficiency and effectiveness, providing input to solution designs to ensure consistency, security, maintainability and flexibility.Continually enhance full delivery pipeline through automation, expanded yet increasingly efficient test coverage, ultimately optimizing time-to-market and qualitySupport aligned team with challenging or critical production support work as required.Deliver artifacts, technical documents and designs that meet business requirements.Participate in and/or lead design and code reviews.Contribute to decisions that impact profitability and operational effectiveness. Qualifications 5+ years of professional experience in software engineering2+ years of Master Data Management experience is preferredProven experience designing solutions using cloud computing platforms & services (AWS, Lambda, Kubernetes)Working knowledge of data solutions such as Postgres and Mongo Atlas.Proven experience designing & building APIs (REST, SOAP, API Gateway, SpringBoot, etc.)Experience in agile software delivery (Scrum, Kanban, XP, etc.)Highly proficient in software engineering tools such as GIT Hub and Jira.Versed in diverse technologies and technical architecture principles and concepts. Extensive knowledge in layered systems architectures solutions and designs and shared software concepts.Knowledge of Application Monitoring tools like DataDogStrong consultative skills, including the ability to understand and apply customer requirements, including drawing out unforeseen implications and making recommendations for design, the ability to define design reasoning, understanding potential impacts of design requirements.Strong oral and written communication skills; presentation skillsStrong negotiation, facilitation and consensus building skills

Experience using the Reltio MDM solutionFamiliarity with other languages or frameworks such as Python, Node.js, GolangP&C Insurance industry knowledge
