The role: * Please note - this is a 12 month maternity leave contract*

As a Senior Software Developer, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining software applications that support our core banking operations. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions that meet the needs of our clients and enhance our banking services.

Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, and maintain software applications using C, C#, and the Microsoft technology stack. Collaborate with business analysts, project managers, and other developers to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications. Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code following best practices and coding standards. Perform code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members. Troubleshoot and resolve software defects and issues in a timely manner. Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including planning, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance. Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies to ensure our solutions remain competitive and innovative. Knowledge, Skills, and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in software development, with a focus on C#, Angular, and the Microsoft technology stack. Strong understanding of object-oriented programming principles and design patterns. Experience with database design and development, particularly with SQL Server. Familiarity with web development technologies such as ASP.NET, MVC, and Web API. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Strong communication and collaboration skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in the banking or financial services industry. Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools. Knowledge of cloud computing platforms such as Azure.

Office Location:  Toronto Corporate Office with the ability to travel to our St. Catharines office as needed. This is a hybrid work opportunity.

 

Meridian has a remote work policy that allows flexibility for employees to work remotely but also requires a minimum of semi-monthly regular time in the office for purposeful meetings to collaborate, innovate and build effective relationships with your team, your colleagues and your leader which is important to us.
