In this role, you will operate as an expert software developer and would be under direct supervision of the IT Director of Surety Applications who has a software development background as well. You will be responsible for building, extending and bug fixing an enterprise level software system using modern technologies. Ideally, you are someone who shares our passion in the creation of software as craftsmanship, has the communication skills to speak, train and plan with both technical and non-technical people and has a strong foundation of skills that will add value to our team. We aim to provide a relaxed, fun, collaborative environment where skilled professionals can take great pride in building one of the best Surety systems in the industry. This position can be entirely virtual/remote/work from home and the individual can sit anywhere in the US. How you'll make an impact Participate in short virtual “stand-up” meetings with the team to connect and share progress. Collaborate with the team and provide input on ways to address technical issues or decisions as we progress through the project backlog. Track tasks and progress in project management suite (Azure DevOps or Jira). Coding for the efforts of enhancing, bug-fixing, refactoring and extending an enterprise level software system. Provide user support when needed. Create or contribute to documentation where needed. Take great pride in coding contributions and excitement to share ideas with the team. Continuously demonstrate the ability to write code in a way that is consistent with project coding standards. Once acclimated to the project the ideal candidate will be able to progress with minimal guidance or direction on issues pertaining to the expected technical skills. While this position is specifically for the role of a Sr Developer there are instances where it is required to help the team in other means including but not limited to the following: business analysis and requirements gathering; join and/or lead meetings with partner companies; high level planning and documenting sub-projects; data maintenance; data imports About You Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field preferred Strong intellectual curiosity Minimum of three years of experience as a Microsoft software developer (more is preferred) Solid knowledge of the following technologies: C#, SQL, .NET Core, HTML/CSS, Typescript/JavaScript, AngularJS, React Firm understanding of general programming best practices: N-Tier Architecture, Dependency Injection, Unit Testing, Clean Code Strong knowledge of the Microsoft Development Stack: Visual Studio, SQL Management Studio, SQL Server Profiler, Azure Profiler Great communication skills, both verbal and written #LI-DK3 #LI-Remote Compensation and benefits On top of a competitive salary, great teams and exciting career opportunities, we also offer a wide range of benefits.
