Job Description

We are looking for a Senior Software Development Engineer in Test to work within an agile team, to develop and execute test scenarios, and deliver Longview’s cloud-based software platform. This platform is used by both our Solutions team and directly by customers to implement CPM and Tax business solutions. The successful candidate must have a passion for testing, deeply care about software quality, be committed to continuous improvement, and have excellent communication abilities. A proven results-oriented person with a delivery focus and demonstrated ability to achieve stretch goals in a highly innovative and fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Work within the agile team to plan test cases for User Stories and FeaturesCreate testing automation scenarios.Document and interpret results of automated testing, recording bugs and documenting future remediation workInterpret and refine acceptance criteria, ensuring it matches overall project requirementsPerform manual testing against acceptance criterion throughout the life of software projectsCoordinate automation activities around regression testing and scheduled testing for clientsReport and track issues accurately and effectivelyEvaluate mid-project changes for testing impactHelp us improve our QA processes making them more robust and efficientHelp triage our testing backlogCollaborate well with a remote first team, participating in and contributing in Scrum meetings and work effort estimatesTo perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:Discipline and Perseverance – Focus and commitment to solving complex issues through to completionFlexibility and Hard Work – Operate in a fast-paced, iterative development environment; learn and adapt to new technologiesProblem Solving – Strong critical thinking and problem-solving capabilitiesQuality – Dedicated to producing high-quality software and implementing development best practicesTeamwork – Communicate effectively and operate in a team environmentEffective Communicator - Strong written and oral communication skillsExcellent time management skills - a proven ability to utilize your sense of urgency to prioritize tasks effectivelySelf-Improvement - actively self-improves through individual learning, coursework, or otherwise

Skills required:

BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, a related technical discipline, or equivalent5 to 8 years’ experience of manual testing and/or automation testingPassionate about producing high-quality productsExperience writing comprehensive test plans and test cases and moving them into testing automation toolsAbility to thrive in a fast-paced environment while juggling a variety of projectsSQL Server experience highly desirableExperience on an agile development team in the role of a Quality Engineer performing manual testing and automated testingStrong technical writing and verbal communication skills are a mustExperience with modern application development workflows and version control systems like gitSeleniumJavaPowershell, Linux shellComfortable with both Windows and Linux environmentsExperience with performance test automation and its toolsExperience in Scrum or other agile development processes
