As a Software Development Engineer in Test you will help deliver the quality and performance of large scale, custom hardware multi-platform software products and applications that includes; web, API and mobile application interfaces. Incumbents are experienced, hands on and self-motivated engineer who can work in a continuous integration environment. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: + Design, develop, implement and maintain software to test the product/application + Manual QA testing as needed + Define automation strategy, automation cases as well as Design tools for unit, functional, and performance testing in a programmatic manner + Participate in design and code inspections + Propose improvements to our existing processes and build automated tools, libraries and utilities in order to improve the team’s speed, quality and efficiency + Work with a wide variety of technologies from front-end UI to back-end distributed web services + Own the design and implementation of tests that will help in end-to-end quality of major deliverables working closely with multiple engineers and teams to implement them + Integration of both the tests and infrastructure automation into the CI/CD pipeline is also a key responsibility in this position + Add to agile development teams following 12 Factor application development principles + Collaborate effectively within team environment What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications) + Minimum 5 years of experience in Information Technology with expertise in test automation of applications from UI and API layer. + Knowledge of Test Driven Development (TDD), Behavior Driven Development (BDD) with a testing framework like Cucumber or JBehave + Prior experience with one or more querying languages, Oracle SQL (preferred) + Experience with API and Microservices testing and automation + Must have Mobile IOS / Android testing experience + Experience working in distributed agile teams using agile frameworks such as SCRUM , SAFe, XP etc. + Experience deploying applications in AWS or OpenShift (Kubernetes) + Knowledge of continuous integration tools such GitLab CI/CD + Able to independently create and maintain automation test jobs with tools such as Jenkins or equivalent + Candidate should have experience writing, maintaining automated UI and APIs tests written in Java, JavaScript, Python using various open-source testing libraries like Selenium, Cypress, REST Assured, etc. + Experience working with source code management tools such as GitLab, GitHub, AWS Code Commit, etc. and a strong ability to create test reports from automation test run using Cucumber report, Extent report, etc. + Ability to connect with peers, business analysts, and domain experts and the ability to listen to customers and colleagues; convey ideas effectively; prepare written documentation + Personal Accountability: We operate a highly mission critical technology environment which means we need to act proactively and accept responsibility for the overall outcome. + Collaborate and communicate across teams and think about how we can improve our respective domains but make the whole of IT greater than the sum of its parts. + Systems Thinking: Know our business which lets us understand interdependencies and bring a systems thinking of the overall Delta environment to decisions we make. + Excellent Judgement: As technology providers we are constantly having to balance the risk to the operation with the need for agility; this requires excellent judgement from everyone in the design, engineering and change management processes. + Proactive in nature with a customer-centric focus + Excellent verbal and written communication + Execute with a Sense of Urgency + Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data. + Embraces diverse people, thinking, and styles. + Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency. + Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States. What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications) + Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related technical field is preferred. + Experience working in an airline technology environment is preferred. + Experience of working with various AWS cloud services such as EC2, s3 bucket, AWS code pipeline, CloudFormation, etc. + Experience virtualizing services for test automation using tools such as Wire Mock, Mockito etc. + Experience with test management and agile management tools such as VersionOne, qTest etc. + Experience of non-functional testing such as performance, load, stress, security, accessibility and usability testing.
