The Role
This Senior Embedded Test Engineer (SDET) position will be expected to perform test planning, test automation design, test automation development and test execution tasks as well as help mentor junior QA automation team members.  Additionally, our Test Engineers are expected to make suggestions to streamline our QA processes and practices and debug complex issues.

Creation and execution of automated tests of Omnitracs next generation IoT productsReproduce and clearly document defectsParticipate in root-cause analysis of critical defectsHelp guide the team’s testing methodologiesEnsure best possible test coverage from automation and manual test suitesIdentifies risks and issues proactively and drives creative solutionsAnalyzes system errors and suggest corrective measuresValidate deployments to test environments and production environmentsWork with Product Management and Engineering to maintain understanding of the product and underlying technologyOther QA duties as assigned

What You’ll Bring

Essential QualificationsMinimum Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.3-4 years of experience in Quality Engineering /Assurance of Embedded Systems with a focus on test automation design and development.Experience with embedded Linux development and testingExperience in automation – development and testing of automation scriptsExperience with scripting languages such as Python and test frameworks such as PytestExperience with Jira, GitHub, Confluence or similar tool chains for Agile development, test case management, source control, and documentation.Solid understanding of project lifecycle, including requirements gathering, analysis & design, development, testing, and deploymentAn organized individual who is very detail oriented and can develop plans necessary for testing and quality monitoring.Strong knowledge in TDD/CI/CD  An independent worker who can take the initiative to develop test methods, automation methodsA team player that works hard, admits his/her strengths and weaknesses, and has the flexibility to improve by learning new thingsExcellent communication skills, which include active listening and the ability to present complex ideas in concise written and verbal descriptions which are easily understood by both technical and non-technical audiencesBonus QualificationsExperience with large scale telematics and/or internet of things experienceUnderstanding of CAN (Control Area Network), Vehicle protocols like J1939, OBD IIExperience with reporting and visualization tools for the purpose of beta and production monitoringISTQB Test certification
