About the teamAt Zillow Group, we leverage data to empower our customers to unlock life's next chapter, and the Clickstream team is at the heart of our customer analytics and Wall Street metrics reporting. With over 120 stakeholders, we are responsible for the most critical dataset at Zillow. We develop software components to collect, enrich, transform, and aggregate all user events from web and mobile experiences. As the largest dataset at Zillow, Clickstream processes over 2.5 billion events per day across all Zillow brands, translating into a historical dataset of petabyte scale.

Maintaining consistency and high data quality for such a diverse and voluminous dataset requires constant innovation and an unwavering focus on operational excellence. The technological breadth of our team is exceptional; we develop web and mobile SDKs, real-time pipelines using Flink and Kafka, and offline batch processing using Spark, Databricks, and other cutting-edge technologies.

About the role

As the Senior Software Development Manager for the Clickstream team, you will have the outstanding opportunity to lead and develop a diverse group of talented BigData and SDK Software Engineers. Your role will be crucial in shaping the direction of Clickstream and Analytics at Zillow thus playing a valuable part in Zillow Group's business objectives. You will lead the most complex and critical data team at Zillow Group with 120+ stakeholders impacting almost all facets of Zillows businesses.

In this role, you will lead the development and maintenance of the most complex, largest and critical dataset at Zillow.

You will:

Manage a team of 10+ SDEs, TPMs encouraging an inclusive and collaborative environment.Lead the development and implementation of strategic plans and architectures while ensuring operational excellence.Manage 120+ stakeholder as owner of Tier1 data product.Build a vision that connects your team's work to the broader organizational goals, motivating them to achieve their best.Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams to deliver solutions that meet the needs of our diverse user base.Uphold the utmost standards of data security and integrity, strictly following industry standard methodologiesDrive continuous improvement initiatives to improve system performance and user happiness.Mentor and develop team members, enabling them to grow their skills and advance their careers.
 

This role has been categorized as a Remote position. “Remote” employees do not have a permanent corporate office workplace and, instead, work from a physical location of their choice, which must be identified to the Company. U.S. employees may live in any of the 50 United States, with limited exceptions.

In California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Nevada, New York, Washington state, and Washington DC the standard base pay range for this role is $201,700.00 - $322,300.00 Annually. This base pay range is specific to California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Nevada, New York, Washington state, and Washington DC and may not be applicable to other locations.

In addition to a competitive base salary this position is also eligible for equity awards based on factors such as experience, performance and location. Actual amounts will vary depending on experience, performance and location.

Who you areAn experienced leader with a minimum of 5 years of Software leadership experience leading a critical team with multiple stakeholders.Experienced in SDK and BigData development technologies.
