This senior software engineer role is focused on backend development for the Mobile App DevOps team.

 

The team is responsible for multiple products including:

CFA Supply App – Android/IOS/Ipad app the puts supply chain in the hands of restaurant Operators and enables amazing customer supportRoutCFA App – Android app using by drivers and transportation managers.  This is a critical app that guides drivers through deliveries and safety related processesSupply Hub – Web Based Portal to implement master data configuration, Ad hoc communications to restaurants, restaurant onboarding, and transportation related business processesRS Automation – Backend serviced that automation over 65% of service now incidents

The role requires leading development efforts on the backend across products.  It involves defining solutions, technologies, and ensuring high quality on the backend sub-team.

The Chick-fil-A Supply and Bay Center Foods service networks are comprised of three components: 

Distribution Center – State-of-the-art warehouses that house supply for Chick-fil-A restaurants Production Distribution Center – Offsite facilities that prepare select ingredients and menu items for Chick-fil-A restaurants Transportation – Growing fleet of delivery vehicles that supply Chick-fil-A restaurants  Responsibilities Design, deliver and operate complex cloud based (AWS) software solutionsDesign, develop, and deliver solutions using Python/Go and Kubernetes in an AWS environmentImplement AWS Cloud based microservices in a highly transactional system that is available 24/7Leverage agile project management tools and methods to impact the team through system enhancements with a focus on small, frequent releases and continuous improvementDevelop relationships within IT and the business to help with understanding, influencing, and estimating requirements.Identify & propose emerging software engineering technologies, methodologies and/or approachesDrive Engineering and Operational excellence Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology or related field6+ years of programming experience in Python and/or GoBroad experience developing solutions on AWS (IAM, EKS, Lambda, DynamoDB, etc.)A deep understanding of security best practices in the cloud and experience implementing themExperience developing microservices and event driven programmingExperience with Docker/Kubernetes5+ years working in an agile environmentAn insatiable desire to learn new technologies

Note - This opportunity includes both building, deploying, and running solutions that require being part of the support rotation of the DevOps team. This support is shared amongst the team members to cover weekends and weeknights.  The goal is to design for failure and automate responses in the cloud to possible issues so they can be worked during normal hours.
