The Merchant Interfaces team within Decisions Foundations is growing and we are looking for a seasoned Sr. Software Engineer with a track record of leading projects and initiatives on the Merchant Interfaces Team. You will be part of a fast paced team which is responsible for the APIs that Merchants use to integrate with Affirm, and also power some of our top partners like Amazon and Stripe.
We are looking for a highly motivated senior software engineer to join us to help fulfill our vision. The work will be challenging due to the speed at which the market is growing, and the work involved will directly impact the growth trajectory of the Affirm merchant network.
What You’ll Do Lead the design, development, and deployment of software systems and applications. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define software requirements and architecture. Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code in programming languages such as Python, Kotlin, or others as required. Optimize and refactor existing code to enhance performance and scalability. Provide mentorship and guidance to junior and mid-level engineers. Review code, provide feedback, and ensure adherence to best coding practices. Lead technical discussions, design reviews, and solution brainstorming sessions. Analyze and troubleshoot complex technical issues. Develop innovative solutions to meet business needs, focusing on robustness, security, and performance. Actively participates in making their team and workplace an inclusive environment for people from all backgrounds. What We Look For 5+ years of experience as a software engineer with leadership responsibilities and experience mentoring junior engineers. Passion for working with cross-functional teams including Product, Design, Analytics and Business teams. Proficiency in modern programming languages such as Python, Kotlin, or similar. Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes). Knowledge of database systems (SQL, NoSQL), web frameworks, and RESTful API development. Strong understanding of software development methodologies (Agile, Scrum, DevOps). Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

Employees new to Affirm typically come in at the start of the pay range. Affirm focuses on providing a simple and transparent pay structure which is based on a variety of factors, including location, experience and job-related skills.
Base pay is part of a total compensation package that may include equity rewards, monthly stipends for health, wellness and tech spending, and benefits (including 100% subsidized medical coverage, dental and vision for you and your dependents.) In addition, the employees may be eligible for equity rewards offered by Affirm Holdings, Inc. (parent company).
CAN base pay range per year: $150,000 - $200,000
