The work location of this role is hybrid, meaning it will be performed both from home and from a LinkedIn office on select days, as determined by the business needs of the team. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the design & development of business processes, systems, applications, information and data. While working on this team, you’ll get a chance to make key technology decisions, solve massively complex problems, and develop new skills in the process. You will be results driven and coaching teams to deliver software products at the highest levels of quality and craftsmanship. The ideal candidate will be excited for the challenge to transform and think critically on many computer science disciplines including product design, usability, building APIs, scaling performance, and 24x7 reliability. Responsibilities:  - You will be designing and building data architectures including design and set up scalable high performing data lakes, transformations, and governance. - You will be developing and deploying data applications, including Design and develop batch and real-time streaming of data loads. - You will act as Data engineer expert on latest trends in the modern data architecture and share best practices with team. - Develop distributed applications, propose, and discuss architectural trade-offs applying synchronous and asynchronous design patterns, write code, and deliver with speediness and quality. - You will develop multi-tier scalable, high-volume performing, and reliable user-centric applications that operate 24x7. - You will be performing the best engineering practices to execute large-scale, cross functional, and company-wide critical programs. - You will leverage and successfully evangelize opportunities to improve engineering productivity. Basic Qualifications: - BE Degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline, or related practical experience. - 5 + years of experience in developing distributed data processing of big data batch or streaming pipelines. - Hands-on experience in bigdata technologies like Spark, Hadoop, Kafka, Airflow etc. using programming languages like Python (preferred) / Scala. - Experience in building modern data platforms and automation of data pipelines. - Hands-on experience in data management, data governance, master data management and meta data management. Preferred Qualifications: - Experience with Azure, including provisioning, configuring, and developing solutions in services like Azure Data Lake Storage, Data Factory, Databricks, Azure Synapse Analytics etc. - Knowledge of computer science, with strong competencies in data structures, algorithms, and software design.  - Experience of working with big data technologies like Hadoop, Apache Spark, and Airflow. - Experience working with cloud technology such as Azure and should have hands-on experience in Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Azure Data Lake Storage, Service Bus, Azure Data Catalog etc. is preferred. - Experience of using message queues such as Kafka. - Experience using NoSQL databases such as Cosmos DB. - Experience in Data warehouse/analytical systems using Azure Synapse. - Design and develop batch and real-time streaming of data loads. - Experience with unit and e2e testing frameworks. - Knowledge of (and a passion for) current trends and best practices in front-end and back-end architecture, including performance, security, and scalability.
