The Data Solutions & Initiatives (DSI) team supports Apple’s business leaders as they project, manage, and report on business performance. We do this by driving vast improvements for our customers, experiences that delight, platforms that scale to meet the demands of the business, tools that provide crucial productivity and insights.DescriptionDescriptionThis is a senior full-stack software engineering role. You will collaborate closely with other engineers, users and business leaders to plan, design, build and deliver high quality software. Your responsibilities will include: - Leading technical direction and execution. Demonstrate rigor through implementations that can scale to meet business needs with high availability, performant and robustness - Driving best practices in linting, testing, patterns/paradigms, documentation, processes, etc. - Developing, maintaining, and reviewing software with a focus on quality and maintainability - Facilitating coordination with cross-functional partners (e.g. Product Manager, DevOps, Data Engineer, Data Scientist) to design and deliver robust solutions in a timely and cost-efficient manner - Providing technical oversight for the entire software development lifecycle, ensuring plan and outcomes align to expected functional and non-functional requirements - Debugging production issue, perform root cause analysis and ensure timely followups on short-term and long-term solutions - Mentoring and coaching less experienced engineers, providing technical guidance when necessary. - Researching novel technologies, building proofs of concept and presenting learnings - Promoting and exemplifying technical excellence and innovationMinimum QualificationsMinimum Qualifications7+ years of software engineering experienceExperience leading or managing engineering teamsProficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and one compiled language, e.g. Java, Go, Swift, KotlinFamiliarity with systems architecture, API and frontend developmentKnowledge of infrastructure, various data stores and cachesStrong communication skills to effectively convey technical conceptsAbility to guide teams through iterative planning, execution, and delivery processesUnderstanding of designing for resilience and self-healing capabilitiesKey QualificationsKey QualificationsPreferred QualificationsPreferred Qualifications10+ years software engineering experienceExpert level understanding of distributed services, databases and API developmentProven experience in rapid scaling, performance and resilience testingDeep knowledge of AWS or other cloud platformsFamiliarity with native development (iOS, macOS, Swift)Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or Computer EngineeringEducation & ExperienceEducation & ExperienceAdditional RequirementsAdditional RequirementsPay & BenefitsPay & BenefitsAt Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $175,800 and $264,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
