Senior Software Engineer, System Integration

The Red Hat Software Engineering team is seeking a skilled System Integration Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in integrating and deploying solutions that contribute to infrastructure management and virtualization projects. You will work closely with our engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of various components into enterprise-ready products and solutions, such as virtual machine migration tools for ISVs and OEMs. Your work will require proficiency in a range of technologies and tools that support the needs of our customers and partners.

What you will do:

Design, develop, and implement integration solutions using technologies like Golang or Python.

Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate services and projects into complete, functioning solutions.

Provide support for deploying and maintaining integrated systems in a variety of environments.

Work with the Quality Engineering (QE) team to ensure that integrated solutions meet quality standards.

Communicate and collaborate with customers and partners to gather feedback and ensure successful integration.

Share insights and updates on integration projects through blogs, web postings, and conference presentations.

What you will bring:

Strong programming experience with languages like Golang, Python, or Java.

Experience with Kubernetes or Red Hat OpenShift for deploying containerized applications.

Proficiency with virtualization technologies such as VMware or Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization.

Solid background in Linux operating systems.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

Team collaboration and ability to contribute effectively both individually and within a team.

Familiarity with CI/CD practices and tools for continuous integration.

The following are considered a plus:

A record of open-source contributions or active involvement in open-source communities.

Experience with Terraform for infrastructure as code.

Knowledge of Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform for automating tasks and deployments.

Understanding of CoreOS and its architecture.

What the Role Entails:

As a System Integration Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring that different components and systems work together seamlessly within larger solutions. This will involve development, testing, deploying, and maintaining integration points, as well as collaborating with internal teams and customers to fine-tune processes. You should be adept at problem-solving, proactive communication, and leveraging your technical expertise to build reliable and scalable integrations. Your work will contribute to making Red Hat's infrastructure and virtualization solutions robust and efficient for our enterprise clients.

This role requires an individual who has both the technical depth and the collaborative mindset to successfully contribute to integration projects and make a meaningful impact in the open-source and enterprise ecosystems.
