Senior Software Engineer

Ford is building an abstracted and standard set of APIs that application layer can use to get, set and update various low level knobs and variables from different systems and platform domains. The API design needs to be architecture agnostic, with the goal to provide a standardized set of APIs for internal teams to use.

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Electrical Engineering, or related field. 6+ years of experience in software development, and with data structures/algorithms. 4+ years of experience testing and launching software products. 4+ years of experience s in Python, C++ or similar scripting language. Strong problem-solving, communication, and technical writing skills. Experience with DevOps technologies and familiarity with implementing Continuous Delivery models.

 

Master’s degree in computer science, Electrical Engineering, or related field. Experience with software design and architecture especially in the automotive domain  Experience building and developing infrastructure, distributed systems/networks, or with compute technologies or automotive architecture. Experience working in Agile environments and working across disciplines and teams. Familiarity with automotive ECUs, control systems, and communication protocols.

What you'll do...

Own and drive the design, development of tools and technologies required for vehicle architecture enabling. Develop and maintain tools and environment for managing delivery of SW and NW Architecture changes in a fast-paced agile environment. Develop scripts to automate the building of solutions and establish continuous delivery mechanisms for all vehicle programs.  Evaluate technologies and methods for integration of ECU platforms.  Enable software development, automated tests development and regression suites.
