Senior Software Engineer
Amentum is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our USN advance technology development team working 30 hours a week. Someone to code, optimize and build software speed and efficiency in an R&D setting. We are fun, collaborative, supportive and our goal is to find great people who want to stay hands on in development yet have input in process improvements. We work hand in hand with the government customers on integrated teams. Primary work location will be in Fredericksburg, VA with occasional telecommute or travel opportunities. **Senior Software Engineer Responsibilities Includes:** + Develop and/or verify software system specifications and requirements documentation, develop support system software capabilities, features, or enhancements. + Plans, performs, and lead software design, coding, and testing. + Work with customers and engineers in an adaptive Agile environment, build and maintaining the latest development tools, helping expand our Modeling and Simulation capability. **Minimum Qualifications:** + Bachelor’s Degree (in Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics) + Must be able to obtain/maintain a Secret security clearance (at a minimum, must receive/be approved for an interim Secret security clearance in order to start) Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a SECRET Clearance. + 15 years of Software Development Experience, Software Design experience in DOD Weapons Systems and a current Secret clearance + Must Know the following programming languages: C/C++, Python, Assembly. **Preferred experience:** + Familiarity with as many as able of the following: RHEL, RTOS-E, Solaris or System-V based Unix, RHEL, FEDORA, or CentOS, some CI/CD Pipeline and Static Analysis tools such as Jenkins, Coverity, Cppcheck. Experience with and proficient with at least one of the following Object-oriented programming (OOP) languages: C/C++ or Java Amentum is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
