Yahoo's Media Platform team enables core media business capabilities across Yahoo products in News, Finance, and Sports. We provide products and services to help each product enable use cases faster and cost-effectively. As a result, they can leverage advanced capabilities that any independent vertical would not be able to buy or build. The Content Management team in the Media Platform aims to create the best experience for content creators, from onboarding to audience engagement. As a fullstack Sr. SDE you will lead the team, you'll drive the strategic vision and execution of cutting-edge solutions, for example integrating AI and Large Language Models (LLMs) to enhance content creation and enrichments. Collaborate with Product and Business leaders to deliver scalable, reusable components. These include microservices and cloud-native solutions. In addition, you will work closely with Data Science and Engineering teams to leverage data-driven insights and machine learning to continuously optimize user experiences. This role offers an exciting opportunity to leverage your expertise in agile methodologies and cloud technologies, while building strong cross-functional partnerships and leading impactful initiatives.
Responsibilities:
Work with product and engineers from other teams to design and build new features
Define technical architectures, guide development teams on implementation, and do hands-on coding
Lead engineers on the team in implementing new features and improving existing functionality
Perform code reviews, ensuring the code quality, functionality, and improvement of the team’s engineering skills
A lot about You:
BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent combination of experience
5+ years experience with Java and related technologies, eg. Undertow, Junit/TestNG, JAX-RS/Jersey, Spring/Spring-Boot etc.
2+ years experience in owning, designing components of large scale system
Experience designing, building, and integrating with HTTP APIs
Lead, Mentor junior engineers in the team
Demonstrated problem solving skills and taking initiatives
Great communication skills, joy in helping people, ability to remain friendly and constructive under stress
Passion for automated testing
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently as well as on a team
Experience leading engineer teams, providing technical, and helping coworkers grow
Solid understanding of system design principles, coding best practices, and growing these skills within a team.
Responsibilities
Expected to lead a project from start to finish and remove ambiguity
Oversee the technical design, development, and testing of new software features for the publishing systems
Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including Product Management, User Design, Program Management, and other Engineering teams
Mentor and guide members of the squad, providing leadership
Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent work experience
Ability to implement solutions across the entire tech stack
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to other engineers and collaborate effectively with them
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically and analytically
Experience in AWS, Python, and React
Experience with Agile software development methodologies and deep understanding of software engineering principles
Nice to Have
Experience in languages like TypeScript
Experience in technologies like Next.js, FastAPI, and Tailwind
Experience in large-scale digital content publishing - CMS systems
Experience using ML and AI techniques that drive product features

The compensation for this position ranges from $128,250.00 - $266,875.00/yr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills and experience. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions, in addition to equity incentives.
