Job Description:

Senior Software Engineer (Grade 5).

The Job Role

This role is for a Senior Mainframe Software Engineer who will support Regulatory Reporting systems, including, but not limited to, analyzing, designing, coding, testing, and installing changes dictated by regulatory requirements or defect resolution;  communicating with the business partners;  producing ad-hoc reports on request;  participating in production on-call support rotation.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

>7 years of experience in Mainframe development & support. TSO/ISPF, COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM, CICS, Control-M, Endevor are a must. Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience required Experience with brokerage systems and general understanding of trading platforms are highly desirable. Proven analytical and problem-solving skills. Experience coding, testing, and implementing COBOL solutions. Must be capable of learning complex processes quickly and able to conduct independent research. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are a must. General proficiency with MS Office suite is required. Mainframe WebSphere MQ, PL/SQL, and basic familiarity with distributed systems and hosting solutions is a plus.

The Team

The Regulatory Reporting team is a part of FIT (Fidelity Institutional Technology) and is responsible for supporting and maintaining the software that reports trades to the regulatory bodies (FINRA).

The base salary range for this position is $76,000-$144,000 per year.  

Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate’s relevant experience, and other factors.

Base salary is only part of the total compensation package. Depending on the position and eligibility requirements, the offer package may also include bonus or other variable compensation.
