Compensation includes a base salary of $97,100.00 - $161,800.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities. The Sr Software Engineer will immediately work on the technical aspects of next generation client-side solutions including Broadband, Connected Home, and Communities. This position is responsible for providing hands on expertise working with a cross-functional team of engineers in the development of advanced client solutions supporting our core products and customers. These projects will be conducted in a fast-paced and agile environment where all initiatives are aligned with corporate directives.
Primary Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions:
Be part of a cross-functional team to work on client-side platform technologies in support of Broadband, Connected Home, and Communities
In cooperation with Cox Product Development organization, develop and document platform requirements for new products and features
Engage in design and development discussions, helping the team conceptualize desired outcomes
Assist with feature estimation in terms of technical requirements, time, and anticipated outcomes.
Understanding of Broadband products for the residential and commercial verticals that include data services to residential subscribers and Cox Business customers.
Document processes to capture best practices, methodologies and repeatability going forward.
Participate in the analysis and diagnosis of complex platform issues including troubleshooting and enhancements for existing and new features
Define architectural requirements of client-side platforms, working closely with other server and system architects, while leveraging industry technology standards
Communicate status of all projects to technical and non-technical personnel, including peers, direct, and senior management
Proactively identify and propose products and/or enhancements to existing products to improve platform performance and maintainability
Work with field and care technical personnel in support of product trials and deployments
Actively maintain knowledge of current and emerging platform technologies and industry trends.
Minimum:
Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline and 4 years’ experience in a related field. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as a master’s degree and 2 years’ experience; a Ph.D. and up to 1 year of experience; or 8 years’ experience in a related field
Working knowledge of programming languages like Python, Java, PHP, C, C+++, HTML/CSS
Working knowledge of Frameworks/APIs like React, Spring Boot, OAuth, Bootstrap
Self-motivated with strong sense of project ownership & communication skills
Comprehensive knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
