With a vast network of Points of Presence (POPs) worldwide, we ensure fast, reliable, and scalable traffic routing and content delivery for Apple.DescriptionDescriptionJoin us to design, build, and optimize the systems that power Apple's global edge network, collaborate with experts in network engineering, distributed systems, and protocol development to create cutting-edge solutions that impact billions of users. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: - Design and implement next-generation networking protocols, including HTTP/3, QUIC, and DoH - Collaborate with other Engineering teams to architect and build the next-generation edge network - Optimize the efficiency, scalability, and reliability of Apple's edge infrastructure to handle global traffic demands - Conduct design and code reviews, mentoring peers while ensuring high-quality software - Continuously analyze system performance to identify and resolve bottlenecks Minimum QualificationsMinimum Qualifications5+ years of experience working with HTTP, TLS, C++, and LinuxProven expertise in developing and debugging system-level services in high performance languages like C++ or SwiftStrong knowledge of networking protocols, including HTTP, QUIC, TLS, or TCP/IPExperience with concurrency, multithreading, distributed systems, and server architecturesBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experienceKey QualificationsKey QualificationsPreferred QualificationsPreferred QualificationsFamiliarity with proxy systems such as NGINX or EnvoyExperience with containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and infrastructure as code toolsProficiency in performance analysis, debugging, and observability toolsA passion for solving complex problems at scale and driving technical innovationEducation & ExperienceEducation & ExperienceAdditional RequirementsAdditional RequirementsPay & BenefitsPay & BenefitsAt Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $143,100 and $264,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
