Microsoft Silicon and Cloud Hardware Infrastructure Engineering (SCHIE) is the team behind Microsoft’s expanding Cloud Infrastructure and responsible for powering Microsoft’s “Intelligent Cloud” mission. SCHIE delivers the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's over 200 online businesses including AI, Bing, MSN, Office 365, Xbox Live, Skype, OneDrive and the Microsoft Azure platform globally with our server and data center infrastructure, security and compliance, operations, globalization, and manageability solutions. Within the Azure platform, we in the Hardware Health Service team are tasked with designing, implementing, and operating globally scalable cloud service which captures millions of hardware metrics from the world-wide Azure’s hardware fleet, and helps predict and detect anomalies and failures with the aim of preventing such failures from causing a negative impact to Azure customer. We focus on creating solutions essential for our cloud service platforms while minimizing the total cost of ownership (TCO) and providing great customer experience despite hardware unreliability.
