The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:
· Design and development of backend aspects and core algorithms of software for medical device.
· Managing all aspects of assigned work packages to ensure timely completion of tasks while remaining in full compliance with Globus software development environment (version control, toolchains, documentation tools) and quality system.
· Definition, implementation and execution of software design verification procedures to ensure designs meet requirements.
· Contribution to system and procedural design verification and validation activities to ensure designs meet requirements.
· Creating and maintaining assigned design technical file software documents.
· Periodically attend surgical cases and cadaver labs to understand context and end-user (i.e., surgeon) requirements.
To be qualified for this role, you must possess the following:
· Higher education (HES, EPF, Technical University)
· Ideally 3 – 5 years, or more of experience in a similar role in an international, matrixed and fast-growing environment.
· Object oriented C++ development, including C++17 and later.
· Knowledge of 2D/3D linear algebra (including vectors/matrices/transformations)
· Knowledge of software development environment and distributed version control system (VisualStudio, VisualStudio Code, GIT), as well as Unified Modeling Language (UML).
· Test-driven programming.
· Proactive and autonomous mindset supported by problem solving skills.
· Proficient in both spoken and written English and French, or willingness to improve it. Important note: you will be interacting with English speaking colleagues located in the USA and Europe daily.
· You are willing to relocate to Lausanne, Switzerland area.
· Ability to internationally travel up to 5% of the time and attend cadaver labs and surgeries.
To be successful in this role, you need to have experience or be willing to learn the following:
· Medical device or life sciences experience are an asset.
· Medical image processing (e.g., X-ray, CT scans, MRI) experience is a big asset.
