Kforce has a client in Rochester Hills, MI that is seeking a Senior Software Engineer with a focus on vehicle applications and automotive communication protocols. Summary: In this role, you will perform standard software engineering assignments, which are of moderate technical complexity and usually represent a significant portion of larger project. You will independently select engineering techniques and approach to less experienced employees. Individuals in the capacity are recognized as having a high level of technical proficiency. This role is ideal for someone with a background in automotive software engineering and a strong foundation in C++ and object-oriented programming. Core Responsibilities: * Software Development: Creating new applications and updating existing applications, particularly for vehicle communication; Interpret customer specs and create applications based on the specifications; Update existing applications to either add new features or fix minor issues * Debugging: Identifying and fixing issues found by customers * Data Parsing: Handling data from vehicle communication systems; Parse data from the vehicle communication business
