Senior Software Engineer

C. H Robinson is seeking a Senior Software Engineer on our Fin Tech Engineering team who will be responsible for developing and maintaining cutting-edge financial products that handle over $40B of combined revenue and payables. As a Software Engineer, you’ll have the ability to influence the roadmap working with cross-functional partners prioritizing for reliability and providing support to our internal and external customers with simple and intuitive products.  In addition, you will be responsible for impacting and continuously improving our engineering culture, process and mentoring other engineers across the organization.  Financial Tech maintains our corporate level, worldwide accounts receivable systems, and will give you the opportunity to help lead projects that shape our logistics and supply chain finance portfolio. Duties & Responsibilities

The duties and responsibilities of this position consists of, but are not limited to, the following:

Analyze and translate high-level customer requirements into detailed designs to solve complex business problemsDesign solutions that align to the long-term plan for a service or product based on deep expertise and customer
insightsDefine interfaces and develop code for modules across products or services and may influence or drive
architectural changesIncrease code quality through code reviews and writing unit, integration, and acceptance testsIdentify code across multiple code bases to optimize, refactor, and reuse code to improve performance and
maintainability while ensuring maximum efficiency, effectiveness, and return on investmentOptimize, refactor, and reuse code to improve performance and maintainability while ensuring maximum efficiency,
effectiveness, and return on investmentCollaborate with team to define testing strategy and drive quality throughout the engineering lifecycle through unit
and integration testsProactively identify performance and availability issues, troubleshoot, provide effective options, and resolve issues
in production that could span multiple product areasWrite code using secure programming patterns and by finding, fixing, and enhancing security in existing
applicationsDevelop and maintain thorough technical documentation for the product or serviceDesign products or services by using secure programming patterns and finding, fixing, and enhancing security in
existing applications; ensure secure best practices are part of design and implementation of new features and
applicationsEstimate for software projects including dependencies, work, time, resources, and skill needsMaintain knowledge of emerging technologiesAdopt established best practices while contributing to the definition of the engineering lifecycle as well as the
definition of best practicesMentor and coach other software engineers by participating in design and code reviews and share best practices;
proactively seek mentorship from othersCollaborate with leadership to unblock and direct members on the team to successfully deliver high quality softwareOther duties or responsibilities as assigned according to the team and/or country specific requirements

Required Qualifications:

5+ years of enterprise application development experience and leading engineering teamsExperience with modern development languages (ex. .Net CORE, C#)Experience with database objects in relational (ex. MS SQL) and non-relational databases (ex. MongoDB, Elastic, Cosmos)Experience with microservice architecture, REST, CQRS, event driven and eventually consistent system design patterns and system flowsExperience with data streaming architecture and frameworks (Kafka, ESB)Experience establishing testing patterns, acceptance testing criteria, and reviewing others’ automated testsExperience with version control systems (ex. GIT, GITHub, TFS, etc.)Experience with CI/CD continuous integration / continuous deployment practicesExperience building cloud native applications and services (ex. Azure, AWS, GCP)Experience with end-to-end feature development including backend/API engineeringBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or MIS; or, 4 years of equivalent work experience and a high school diploma/GED

Compensation Range

$111,300.00 - $246,800.00
