Position: Senior Software Engineer

Duties: Coordinates and oversees job-related activities and assignments ensuring that tasks and projects are completed on time and according to requirements. Troubleshoot performance and availability issues. Conduct maintenance procedures for applications, monitor their performance, and perform re-engineering activities. Create user stories for agile methodologies and identify any gaps or modifications needed to meet customer expectations. Design solutions for specific components or modules of a product. Ensure that the processes and applications work together effectively, considering trade-offs based on business requirements. Write code for components and applications, following coding standards and guidelines. The code should meet business and technical requirements, be maintainable, available, and scalable. Implement telemetry features and adherence to security policies. Prepare test cases, execute them, and analyze the results. Detect and fix errors and defects in the code and ensure the quality of the components or applications. Work on defects by tracking and analyzing them, reporting them, and performing regression testing. Conduct root cause analysis to identify the underlying causes of defects and implement corrective actions. Evaluate change requests and ensure data migration and accessibility. Monitor the progress of programs against approved milestones and timelines. Ensure that projects are on track and adjustments are made as necessary. Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, such as customers and business partners, to understand their needs and expectations. Analyze and understand the requirements of a project or task, including identifying risks, analyzing costs, and classifying requirements into different types.
Minimum education and experience required: Master's degree or equivalent in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 1 year of experience in software engineering or related area; OR Bachelor's degree or equivalent in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 3 years of experience in software engineering or related area.
Skills required: Experience coding in an object-oriented programming language Java, Python, or Scala. Experience managing CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins for incremental rollout. Experience implementing Service synchronization using Kafka. Experience monitoring and debugging health status of microservices by using Splunk and Grafana. Experience in optimizing Hive queries by leveraging HiveQL functions, subqueries, and joins. Experience integrating Avro with data processing frameworks including Apache Hadoop and Apache Spark for efficient and scalable data processing. Experience working with cloud platform, including its various services and features, to design, deploy, and manage scalable and highly available applications. Experience utilizing Agile frameworks including Scrum or Kanban to enable iterative and incremental development, continuous feedback, and adaptive planning. Experience utilizing Maven, a popular build automation tool, to manage and resolve dependencies from remote repositories. Employer will accept any amount of experience with the required skills.
Salary Range: $117,000/year to $234,000/year. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include: Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) (based on location) and Stock equity incentives.
