**About the Role** The role involves working on core infra of job processing system that handles upwards of 10 million jobs a day. The challenge is to continuously evolve the architecture of the system and we build hybrid data lake while ensuring strong availability and reliability guarentees. Should be able to leverage existing programming language skill, past experience building similar system before to make right trade off so we can quickly build out a solution that will stand the test of time. **What the Candidate Will Need / Bonus Points** \-\-\-\- What the Candidate Will Do ---- Work in the batch storage infra at Uber. Build and maintain and operationalise distributed copy system to move the multi petabyte replication service that moves data from one region to another with low latency. \-\-\-\- Basic Qualifications ---- BE/BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science. Strong knowledge of any one programming knowledge. Deep understanding of computer systems. Has built and operationalised systems at scale. Lead engineering teams to tackle complex problems and has a bias towards execution. \-\-\-\- Preferred Qualifications ---- A distributed system generalist, is curious about how different systems tackle problems at scale.
