The anticipated salary range for this role is between $115,000.00 and $205,000.00. The specific salary offered to an applicant will be based on their individual qualifications, experiences, and an analysis of the current compensation paid in their geography and the market for similar roles at the time of hire. The role may also be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive award. In addition to cash compensation, SMBC offers a competitive portfolio of benefits to its employees.
**Role Description**
SMBC is in process of leading a Digital Transformation across our Americas Division as we continue to modernize our technology, focus on our data driven approach, grow and plan for the future. As a result of this expansion we are seeking an Senior Software Developer.
**Role Objectives**
• Will be part of the trading system development team to enhance pre and post trade processing functions such as trade pricing and risk, profit and loss, processing, payment, and regulatory reporting.
• This role will be involved in interacting with the trading desk to implement the new requirement by leveraging the existing system capability.
• Responsibilities of supporting the trading system, including providing answers to users’ inquiries and investigating the trade flow among different systems.
• The role will be involved in projects to migrate legacy systems into new platforms, and as such, he or she has to be a hands-on developer, a quick learner, and also be adaptive to new technologies.
• Will be part of the SMBC CM development team. He or she will need to follow SMBC CM development standards and contribute to the overall agenda of the team.
**Qualifications and Skills**
• 7+ years of experience in a large & complex application development environment involving complicated data schemas
• Proven experience in OOD/OOP, especially in C#
• Financial knowledge in general, and Foreign Exchange knowledge is must have
• Professional experience with C/C++/Java
• Working knowledge on FIX connectivity
• SQL knowledge
• Experience in application designs for complicated process flows
• Experience in analyzing and designing complicated Data/Object Relations
• Experience in source control tools and scheduling tools
• Must be a good team player and can work cooperatively or independently
• Quick learner and problem solver
• 5 years in financial industry. Experience in Interest Rate Swap industry is a plus
