Red Hat is seeking a skilled and driven Developer Experience Software Engineer to optimize cloud usage and drive cost efficiency across our multi-cloud platforms in our Secure Flow organization, as well as help improve the developer experience in Konflux. This role focuses on implementing best practices in cloud cost management, leveraging your technical expertise in AWS, OpenShift, IBM Cloud, GCP and platform engineering. You will be an individual contributor, responsible for identifying opportunities to enhance cloud savings, automating processes, and providing actionable insights to stakeholders, including implementing them in a multi-cloud environment supporting fast growing products and services.
The Secure Flow organization includes development teams from leading Red Hat products and services, including OpenShift GitOps, OpenShift Pipelines, RHTAP and Konflux, which is Red Hat’s next-generation platform for container build, testing, and releasing products and services using an open hybrid cloud technologies securely.
You will get a chance to work with software and quality engineers from multiple teams, architects, FinOps specialists and other stakeholders to lead cost-saving efforts in the organization and potentially in an even broader scope in the future.

What you will do
Analyze and monitor cloud usage and expenditure across AWS, GCP, Azure and IBM cloud, using Cloudability and other tools.Develop and implement cost-optimization strategies, including rightsizing, reserved instance planning, and waste Collaborate with platform engineering teams and architects to design cost-efficient cloud architectures and workflows.Automate cloud cost monitoring and reporting using scripting and tool integrations.Provide actionable recommendations to teams on cost savings and usage patterns on a quarterly basisStay up-to-date with the latest in cloud cost management tools and methodologies.Document processes and educate internal teams on FinOps principles and best practices.Tag cloud resources with metadata such as cost center, department, product nameWhat you will bring
3+ years of experience in cloud operations, platform engineering, or FinOps roles.Proficiency in OpenShift or Kubernetes and containerized application management.Experience with monitoring and automation tools like Terraform, Ansible, or scripting languages (Python, Bash).Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.Knowledge in AWS, including cost management tools and servicesSolid understanding of FinOps principles and cloud cost optimization techniques.Proven track record as a self-learner, staying current with emerging cloud technologies.Excellent written and verbal communication skills in EnglishAbout Red Hat
