Job Description / Responsibilities

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer with a specialization in developing full stack applications. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, and React in the frontend, as well as Java and Spring in the backend. This engineer will be responsible for developing applications in support of our global index platform, as well as our trading floor. They will participate in business requirements gathering, system design and software architecture. They will be responsible for writing code, creating tests, peer reviews and rotating system support with other members of the team.

Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and implement full stack applications in ReactJS, Redux, JavaScript, TypeScript, Java and Spring BootWrite high quality maintainable code with performance in mindEnsure code quality through best practices, including unit testing, integration testing, and code reviewsDistill complex requirements into manageable features and tasksCollaborate within the team and across business lines to provide accurate implementation and efficient time to marketAnalyze and recommend technologies and tools to improve efficiency and quality of the development process and developer experienceQualificationsBachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field preferred5+ years of experience in JavaScript, TypeScript and ReactJS developing applications that interact with REST APIs and WebSocketsExperience managing state in React applications with Redux & React Hooks5+ years of experience in backend development with Java/Spring or equivalentBackend experience implementing REST APIs and WebSocket serversDatabase experience with PostgreSQL or similarExperience writing unit tests in frontend and backendExperience with frontend build tools such as Webpack and NPMDemonstrated ability to work well in a dynamic environment, quickly pick up new skills and adapt to changing business needsExperience in full project lifecycle development and the use of Jira and other collaboration toolsTeam oriented with strong communication, collaboration, active listening and problem-solving skillsCompetent with version control tools, preferably GitSelf-directed, self-motivatedComfortable with Windows and Linux operating systemsNice to haveFinancial industry experienceKafka experiencePython experienceBackend security/authentication implementationUX design experienceMath background
