Job Description for Mainframe Developer Senior role
Looking for Mainframe developer Senior with 6 to 9 years of experience in Hyderabad location who can join in 30-45 days of notice.
Qualifications:
• Primary skillset: COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, VSAM
• Secondary skillset: Assembler, EZtrieve
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in software development in mainframe languages (COBOL, CICS, DB2, and VSAM)
• Possesses technical knowledge based on experience and highly skilled in (COBOL, CICS, DB2, and VSAM)
• Strong experience with EZtrieve and Endevor is preferred
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Demonstrated skills in exercising initiative, good judgment, and making sound technical decisions
• Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to propose and assess the appropriateness and quality of solutions for moderate to complex solutions
• Experience with mainframe debugging tools.
Responsibilities:
• Develop, maintain, and support mainframe applications.
• Ensure that applications run efficiently and are optimized for performance.
• Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and provide solutions.
• Participate in code reviews and ensure code quality.
• Debug and resolve technical issues.
• Perform analysis, testing, debugging, and troubleshooting of mainframe software applications
• Create technical documentation and user manuals to support mainframe applications
• Collaborate with project lead, business analysts, and other developers to deliver high-quality software solutions
• Provide mainframe expertise guidance to junior developers
• Provide Subject Matter Expert level knowledge to drive technology solution development and integration across the SDLC including requirements, functional specs, design, custom development, integration, testing, and deployment
• Provide advanced mainframe technical and subject matter expertise to a suite of projects supporting the critical mission functions of the client
• Expected to learn quickly on the job about the systems and deliver time critical enhancements in a fast-paced team
• Design and develop highly scalable, reliable and fault tolerant systems
• Collaborate with product owners, QA, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and work on user stories/ backlog items and deliver same with highest quality
• Attend stand-up meetings and provide updates
• Provide support to delivery for technical issues, escalations and reviews and to help in deploying in a customer environment.
• Create documentation of operational tasks, procedures and automated processes.
• Fix faults and restore the operability or carry out suitable measures (creation of workaround)
