Job DescriptionU.S. Bank is seeking the position of Senior Software Engineer (multiple positions) in Tempe, Arizona.
Essential Responsibilities:
The Senior Software Engineer will work with GTM Payables in the Payment room to modernize and move the monolith classic application into modern Microservices, which will be useful for migration to Microsoft Azure Cloud. Essential responsibilities include: support day-to-day SinglePoint payment processing of different types of transactions, which include RTP, Wire and ACH; utilize Java 8 as a coding platform, which includes working with Oracle database, Cassandra database, Jenkins, Git and production log viewers in an Agile environment to support applications in both classic SinglePoint and modern applications; execute end-to-end development and testing of software products in an agile lifecycle while utilizing JMeter Karate testing for the performance of new end points created across Microservices; partner with key technical and business stakeholders and QA team to understand the regression testing during pre-release and use Selenium testing to test all the modern flows; help refine product vision; estimate and design solutions; create, purchase, or customize requisite hardware and software to create solutions; ensure quality of final product through manual and automated tests; support new software as it is moved to production; utilize Java 8 with Spring Boot framework to design and develop new API endpoints in modern Microservices; guide the technical design and development of highly complex, cross-functional, multi-platform application systems that would help retire the functionality in old technology and allow users to use the same functionality in modern technology; maintain design documents and important flow diagrams in Confluence for future reference; define and document designs and enhancements for applications while utilizing React framework to develop and design UI requirements; coordinate the definition of time tables and project tasks; create, review and coordinate execution of unit test plans for multiple projects utilizing Postman to load testing and test functionality, and Junit test cases to cover all the use cases and maintain code coverage; use Zephyr extension in code to ensure all test cases are successfully executed during Jenkins build and identifying opportunities to improve testing process; utilize CI/CD Jenkins to build, deploy and publish various Microservices using Docker containers; oversee the designing, coding, testing, implementation and documentation of solutions; develop high-level program specifications; utilize technologies like Black Duck analysis to maintain security, quality and license compliance risks from the use of any open-source and third-party code in applications and containers; and actively participate in the support of any production issues which causes business impacts. Position may allow working from home within commuting distance of worksite location.
Basic Qualifications:
Requires a Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science or Applied Computer Science plus 5 years of experience as a Software Engineer or related..
Required Skills/Experience:
Must possess 5 years of experience with all of the following: legacy application modernization and development using Java, Spring, Apache Camel, and Spark; developing web interfaces using Angular and Java; developing Microservices using Java, Spring Boot, Python, OpenShift, and Syncsort; Java coding in Oracle and Cassandra databases; supporting SinglePoint and modern application development in an Agile environment; designing and developing new API endpoints in modern Microservices using Java and Spring Boot; defining, documenting and maintaining design documents; developing and designing UI requirements; and building, deploying and publishing various Microservices using Docker containers. Position may allow working from home within commuting distance of worksite location. Base pay range may vary if an offer is made for work in a different location.
