Senior Software Engineer - Oracle on RHEL

Job Summary:

The Red Hat Software Engineering Ecosystems team is looking for an engineer with expertise in Oracle Database to join us in Ra'anana, Israel. In this role, you will collaborate with Red Hat engineers and global stakeholders to develop, test, and refine solutions for running Oracle workloads including Oracle RAC on Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and OpenShift Virtualization (OCP-V). You will be at the forefront of creating scalable and reliable reference architectures that showcase the value of Red Hat open source technologies for enterprise-grade Oracle deployments.

This is a unique opportunity to shape Red Hat's offerings for Oracle environments and contribute to innovative automation and support strategies that benefit our customers worldwide.


What you will do:

Oracle Database and RAC testing on OCP-V and creating reference architecture

Work closely with the Red Hat virtualisation engineering team and other stakeholders to create and maintain Red Hat solutions for running Oracle in virtualised environments

Additionally work on Ansible automation roles for Oracle deployments

Contribute to the global Red Hat knowledge management system

Work with Red Hat support engineers to solve highly complex and critical issues

Support proof of concepts

What you will bring:

Experience with Oracle database

Hands-on experience with storage and networking, and virtualization

Experience with software development

Troubleshooting and analytical skills

Ability to collaborate in a global team environment, proactively engage subject matter experts, and follow through on commitments

Good interpersonal communication and collaboration skills

Experience with the following is an advantage

Experience with Oracle RAC

Hands-on experience with OpenShift or other Kubernetes platform 

Familiarity with version control systems. Experience and comfort with Git is a major advantage
