**In this position...**
Software Engineer Supervisor - To meet the growing needs of the mobility business, the CSE team is looking for an initiative-taking, technology focused individual with a passion to work on a collaborative software delivery team to enable the creation and management of Platforms and APIs deployed to the Ford mobility ecosystem. The position will be responsible for leading and implementing platform and API solutions. The candidate for this position must be able to function in different roles within the team, from team leader, architect, high-skilled software developer, support engineer, to consultant and product evangelist.
**What you'll do...**
+ Serve as a Cloud Software Engineer Supervisor / Crew Captain that enables the design, development, and support of Platforms, APIs, and services.
+ Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a team of Cloud Software Engineers, fostering a collaborative environment focused on best practices, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement in cloud-native development
+ Participate in working sessions to gather customer requirements.
+ Develop cloud native Spring Boot/Java API/services using Kubernetes, Apache Kafka, Apache Pulsar, and cloud database technologies.
+ Perform software engineering using Test Driven Development (TDD), continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD)
+ Work in an agile software development environment using sprint/user story methodology.
+ Work with team members to establish best practices to maximize efficiency and minimize risk.
+ Interact and work closely with product managers to devise solutions and break them down into incremental production-ready user stories.
+ Identify opportunities for adopting new technologies to solve existing needs and predict future challenges.
+ Refactor API/services for simplification and efficiency.
+ Execute API Load and Performance (L&P) on API/modules developed.
+ Develop software that is Clean Code compliant and utilizes tools such as SonarQube.
+ Use DevOps tools such as GitHub, SonarCube, CheckMarx, and FOSSA to deploy, improve and manage software.
+ Stay current on the latest technology and contribute to the technical direction of the company while keeping a customer-centric approach.
**You'll have…**
+ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or a closely related field of study.
+ 5+ years of Software engineering experience using Java, Spring, Spring Boot, or GO developing services (APIs, REST, etc.)
+ 2+ years of experience with Google Cloud Platform or other cloud service providers (AWS, Azure, etc.) and associated cloud components.
+ 2+ years of experience with distributed messaging and streaming platforms, such as Apache Pulsar.
+ 2+ years of experience building and designing high performance distributed systems solving large scale engineering challenges.
+ 1+ year experience leading and mentoring a team of engineers.

+ Expertise in API related technologies such as JSON, REST, gRPC, GraphQL, Swagger, and Postman.
+ Knowledge about API design standards, patterns, and best-practices.
+ Experience helping troubleshoot application and performance issues.
+ Agile mindset.
+ Excellent communications skills - ability to engage in deep technical discussions with customers and peers and become a trusted technical advisor.
+ In-depth knowledge of software development methodologies, tools, standards, and procedures for high quality software development.
+ Supporting critical applications in production at scale.
+ Critical thinking, decision-making and leadership aptitudes.
+ Strong analytical and good interpersonal skills.
+ Good organizational and problem-solving abilities.
