Opportunity Overview 

The Teradyne Software Engineering team is looking for a highly motivated, energetic, technically driven Software Engineer to focus on the development of software systems for Automatic Test Equipment (ATE). As a senior Software Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing, developing, and maintaining complex software systems and applications. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions for Teradyne's next-generation products, including hardware/software integration, system-level development, and performance optimization. This position offers an opportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies in the semiconductor and automation industries.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the design and development of software solutions, ensuring high performance, scalability, and maintainability. Architect and implement complex software systems, analyzing and solving technical problems across the entire software lifecycle. Work closely with system engineers, hardware engineers, product managers, and other teams to ensure integration and alignment of system requirements. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, helping them grow and achieve high standards of software engineering. Participate in and lead code reviews, ensuring best practices are followed and quality standards are maintained. Evaluate and apply new technologies, tools, and techniques to improve system performance, software reliability, and team productivity. Ensure robust testing strategies are implemented, identify bugs, and help implement solutions to ensure the quality and reliability of the software. Prepare clear and detailed technical documentation for developed software, system architectures, and processes.

 

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or related field. 10+ years of experience in SW development. Conceive and implement fully functional and high performing C++, C#, .NET and software OO solutions. Experience implementing software that directly interacts with hardware (FPGAs and ASICs) Debug system and board level modules through the software toolset, working closely with hardware engineers. Proven experience in designing and implementing large-scale software systems, preferably in an hardware/software integrated environment. Strong experience with system-level programming and Design Verification automation. Experience with CI/CD processes, version control, and agile methodologies. Familiarity with tools like Git, Jira, Polarian, etc. for Software development and testing. Proficient in Visual Studio 2015 (or later) or equivalent. Proficient with gcc, Linux development tools and embedded Linux Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate with a cross-functional team and mentor junior staff. Exceptional analytical and debugging skills with a proactive approach to resolving complex issues. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
