Senior/Software Quality Engineer - Content Availability (Brno Office, Czech Republic)

The Content Availability (CAT) team is looking for a Senior Quality Engineer or Quality Engineer to join us in Brno. In this role, you'll have the opportunity to make a difference in the way Red Hat content is delivered to customers.  You will gain a deep understanding of Content Delivery Network and related technologies and the way it’s used to deliver Red Hat products to customers. You will make sure our solutions fulfill the highest possible enterprise quality, performance, usability, and supportability criteria compared to competing offerings. As a Principal Quality Engineer, you will serve as the last instance before content is released to the public. You'll serve as a mentor to others and advise them on creating and implementing test plans, researching new features, and developing automated tests. We'll need you to have the ability to think creatively and adapt to rapid change and the willingness to learn new things.

What you will do

You will work with a large portfolio of Red Hat products including Red Hat Enterprise Linux and will be responsible for verifying that correct artifacts such as software packages or images are delivered via the CDN.Create and review test plans and suggest improvements for product planning processesDevelop new automated tests; design and develop new test frameworks and automation; analyze current solutions and suggest improvementsEvaluate all relevant information from stakeholders and help to make decisions on planning/triage meetingsHelp your team gather customer use cases to identify the most troubling components by talking to program managers and solution architectsServe as a point of contact for other team members and help guide them to effectively resolve issues with testing; participate in QE goals and make sure deliverables are met by all of QEContribute features to upstream and give technical presentations at conferences

What you will bring

Experience in Quality EngineeringBachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or a related engineering field, or relevant professional experienceOutstanding written and verbal communication skills in EnglishWell-versed in solutions available for coding tests, new automation, and knowledge about their pluses and minuses; ability to perform code reviews and suggest enhancements based on best practicesAbility to assist in analyzing customer issues and guide other team members through performing root cause analysis; excellent abilities in discovering issues and performing root causes across subsystems and productsAbility to write whole test plans with all the necessary items which should be present; ability to identify gaps in current test coverage and close them and suggest and implement improvements to current test processExcellent skills and background in LinuxAbility to build solid relations in the team and encourage other team members to do the same; ability to lead by example
