Senior Software Support Engineer
The position is for a Senior Software Support Engineer that has worked in a software development environment. This person will be based in our Miami headquarters. This candidate MUST have a strong analyticalproblem solving background in the airline industry. The position will provide technical support to customers and partners that utilize the Farelogix Gateway. ResponsibilitiesThe position requires the ability to analyze complex software issues and provide technical leadership in the resolution workflow. You will work with external customers and escalate internally as required. Scope of software issues include supporting integration efforts for new 3rd party developers, assisting in customer configuration, and general helpdesk software support. Skills & Experience RequirementsStrong issuedefect management skills. Experience provide technical support to proprietary software platforms. Demonstrate knowledge of working with APIs and experience with XML, XSLT transformations. Experience with JavaScript and other programming languages. Solid understanding of networks. Strong analysis and problem solving skills working in a technical software environment. Ability to manage issue resolution workflow in internal and external organizations. Airline travel industry experience. Of ImportanceBackground in software developmentprogramming given preference. Experience working with offnear shore teams. Familiar with SharePoint, Bugzilla, and issue management systems. BS in Computer ScienceInformation Systems field or equivalent ResponsibilitiesCode, test and troubleshoot programs utilizing the appropriate hardware, database, and programming technology. Troubleshoot production Issues. Test and develop programming modifications. Write new program code using prescribed specifications. Evaluate simple interrelationships between programs such as whether a contemplated change in one part of a program would cause unwanted results in a related part. Analyze performance of programs and take action to correct deficiencies based on consultation with users and approval of supervisor. Write and maintain programming documentation. Maintain confidentiality with regard to the information being processed, stored or accessed. Document programming problems and resolutions for future reference. Other duties as assigned. Skills & ExperienceMust have strong development experience in object-oriented languages C. 4 yeas experience developing code in C Windows environment Must have strong programming and analytical skills and be willing to code full time. Understanding of XMLSOAP, web services, web application development. Excellent debugging and troubleshooting skills, as well as strong analytical and problem solving skills. Knowledge of the Microsoft operating systems and tools, such as Microsoft Studio. Good organizational skills and ability to simultaneously work-on and manage multiple tasks concurrently in a fast paced start-up environment. Ability to adapt to change. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Experience in travel distribution technologies Airline, CRS or GDS plus. Expertise in Fare and Pricing is a great plus. Must have at least a Bachelor's degree preferable in Computer Science.
