In Abbott’s Electrophysiology (EP) business, we’re advancing the treatment of heart disease through breakthrough medical technologies in atrial fibrillation, allowing people to restore their health and get on with their lives. As the Senior Software Verification Engineer, you'll have the chance to join our Software Verification team. Use your extensive hands-on experience in development of software test strategy which includes test hierarchy, test design, test levels and test methods. The **Senior** **Software Verification Engineer** will bring testing expertise to the verification and validation of **Abbott Electrophysiology** capital equipment systems. This individual will be responsible for designing, implementing and executing our test strategy and tests for a processing intensive, highly interactive complex medical system. You will have day-to-day impact on workflow and software application associated with electrophysiology capital equipment systems. Responsibilities include test strategy, requirements analysis, test design, test data creation, test execution, defect issue resolution. **What You’ll Work On** + Define and implement different software testing techniques to increase test coverage. + Develop solutions that have significant improvements of processes and test development. + Demonstrate good test architecture and software testing practice. + As a senior team member, contribute significantly to completion of various project activities, from definition, reviewing software functional requirements, test development, code reviews, and final release according to medical device development processes. + Work independently and as a team member to plan, write, and execute test cases according to Abbott practices, FDA regulatory, and ISO standard procedures. + Participate in the requirements, hazard analysis, and design reviews for new features. + Design new test suites for new features and functionality. + Provide verification and validation perspective to R&D’s ongoing product development: requirements, product and test designs, defect reviews, user workflows, and field complaint investigations. + Maintain expert status and continuing proficiency in the field of software test engineering. + Perform dry runs and formal Verification activities as required. + Setup and configure Test Equipment. + Record and close defects found during V&V activities. + Write technical reports and lead technical reviews with cross functional stakeholders. + Act as a technical lead, mentoring other verification engineers on good verification principles. **Required Qualifications** + Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Computer, Electrical, or Software), Computer Science, or related discipline. + 6+ years of professional software test engineering experience preferably in a regulated industry. + Experience with software test strategy which includes test hierarchy, test design, test levels and test methods. + Experience with software development lifecycle management tools. **Preferred Qualifications** + Extensive hands on experience in development of software test strategy which includes test hierarchy, test design, test levels and test methods for medical systems. + Master’s Degree in Engineering (Computer, Electrical, Computer Systems, or Software), Computer Science, or related discipline. + FDA regulated industry experience. + Organized, on-time, and detailed project management skills including project leadership. + Experience with Windows and LINUX operating systems. + Strong technical skill set, including spreadsheet, word processing, PowerPoint and specialized applications. + Excellent documentation skills in delivering information that adds value to management’s decision-making process. + Experienced in quantitative, analytical, organizational, and follow-up skills. + Polished communicator - written documentation and oral presentations/ discussions/ meetings. + Excellent reputation for building relationships across various levels of an organization. + Energized attitude.
