Position Summary
The Senior Solutions Architect will support the OT Infrastructure and Operations teams within the Midstream IT organization. As an OT Infrastructure Architect, you will play a pivotal role in the strategic direction and delivery of innovative Infrastructure Platforms, driving the evolution and reimagining of digital capabilities for Infrastructure Platform delivery, and adjacent Midstream business segments. This role requires a deep expertise in designing and maintaining Modern Networks, Virtualization, Server and OT Hardware, Azure Cloud Technologies, and have a very strong grasp of DevOps, CICD, and Software Development practices. This position will work closely with Product Managers, Domain Leads, Product Owners, and other Architects to tackle technical challenges while aligning them with business objectives. This involves breaking down silos between product lines and business units to deliver solutions that cover extensive value chains. This role also designs and develops architecture (integrated process, applications, data, technology, and security) models and solutions to business problems that set and align with the enterprise architecture direction and standards. It also develops specifications for and selects new product/service offerings, assesses the compatibility and reliability of proposed products/services to ensure architectures are composable and resilient, and performs architecture planning (strategy and roadmaps) and project support.
This position belongs to a family of jobs with increasing responsibility, competency, and skill level. Actual position title and pay grade will be based on the selected candidate’s experience and qualifications.
Key Responsibilities
+ Supports architectural governance and compliance, and contributes to defining principles, guidelines, and standards. Participates and contributes to solution architecture reviews and ensures architecture adherence.
+ Collaborates with stakeholders to ensure solution alignment with business objectives.
+ Evaluate and select appropriate technologies, frameworks, and platforms.
+ Takes a more active role in analyzing technology trends and impacts and contributes to vendor assessments.
+ Leads the design and development of end-to-end solutions that meet business requirements.
+ Analyzes and translates business and technical requirements into solution designs.
+ Leads the translation of business and technical requirements into architectural blueprints, collaborating with product owners and managers. Defines system integration approaches and ensures interoperability of components.
+ Provides guidance and support to development teams during solution implementation. Manages the architecture for a broader scope of projects and develops roadmaps for portfolio evolution.
Education and Experience
+ Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, related field, or equivalent experience required.
+ 5+ years of IT or OT infrastructure architecture experience required. OT Experience preferred.
+ 5+ years of experience in Infrastructure Engineering (Networking, Compute, Storage, IaC, Configuration Management, Identity and Access Management, and/or Platform Development) Preferred.
+ Microsoft Active Directory (AD), System Center Configuration Manager, AzureAD/Entra ID, Identity and Access Management (IAM), Privileged Access Management (PAM), Secure and Immutable Backup solutions (CommVault, Rubrik, Avamar, Veeam, etc)
+ Cisco iOS, Arista EOS, SONiC, BGP, OSPF, IEGRP, RSTP, PAN OS, CheckPoint IPSO, etc
+ Terraform, OpenTofu, Ansible, Chef, Puppet, CloudFormation, Salt, MS SCCM, etc
+ Saviynt, Sailpoint, Oracle IAM, CyberArk, OneLogin, BeyondTrust, Delinea, etc
+ vSphere vSAN, CEPH, Longhorn, other highly available storage solutions
+ Thorough understanding of the Purdue Enterprise Reference Architecture and a firm understanding of computing security and reliability practices are preferred.
+ In-depth experience with multiple hypervisors (vSphere, Harvester, KVM, XEN, Hyper-V, etc) preferred
+ Experience with Software Defined Networking (SDN), Network as Code, Software Defined WAN (SD-WAN), and Zero Trust Network Architecture preferred
+ Experience with Software Development Lifecycle, DevSecOps, CICD (and CICD for Operations), and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) preferred.
