Senior Solutions Architect
**Job Description** Holland America Line has been exploring the world since 1873. We’re looking for an amazing Senior Solution Architect to fill this role. This is a hybrid, in-office role. You’ll work in person at our Miami or Seattle Office Tuesday to Thursday each week. You’ll be responsible for leading the design and development of a secure, scalable enterprise automation platform. This platform will focus on email processing and workflow automation, leveraging AWS services, AI capabilities, and enterprise-grade security. The result will be an AI-powered email classification and workflow automation system to optimize the Crew Planning process. The system will automatically classify incoming emails, route them to the appropriate team or system for response, and automate replies, when possible, to reduce manual workload. Here’s a summary of what Holland America Line is looking for in its Senior Solution Architect. Is this you? **Responsibilities** + Lead Architecture Design + Lead architecture design of AI enterprise automation platform using various AWS services. + Partner with business owners and product managers to scope solutions. + Integrate AI/ML for intelligent automation, leveraging tools like AWS Bedrock. + Define system integration patterns and API standards for seamless interoperability. + Lead key architecture decisions and set the technical direction for projects. + Implementation / Optimization + Optimize costs of services used via service tagging strategies and other techniques. + Optimize performance to provide premium service to our customers. + Perform Proof-of-concepts as required for new business use-cases. + Review and approve technical designs in collaboration with Holland America’s Tech Lead. + Establish monitoring, alerting strategies, and performance optimization frameworks. + Security / Compliance + Implement security best practices to protect our services and customers from threats. + Define security policies and compliance measures alongside the in-house IT team. + Develop comprehensive error handling, disaster recovery, and high-availability strategies while implementing a robust security and compliance framework + Documentation / Training + Document technical processes in a standardized way. + Provide training and support for solutions architected. + Collaborate and assist offshore team members in the creation of systems. + Provide guidance to development teams on AWS best practices and architectural patterns. **Requirements** + Bachelor’s degree in computer science/Artificial Intelligence + AWS Certified Solution Architect – Professional + 5+ years AWS services (Lambda, EC2, S3, Step Functions, CloudWatch) + 5+ years security (IAM, KMS, Zero Trust Architecture, compliance frameworks, threat modelling) + 3+ years Artificial Intelligence (Bedrock, Anthropic, OpenAI, Functions, RAG, vector databases, NLP) + 3+ years microservice architectures, CI/CD practices, Infrastructure as Code (IaC) + Multi-region AWS deployments + Background in email processing systems – preferred + Hands-on with AWS Bedrock leveraging knowledge bases and action groups preferred + Proven experience working with offshore teams, adapting communication styles as needed. + Work beyond normal business hours or on weekends may be required occasionally to support business needs, projects, or operations. **What You Can Expect** + Cruise and Travel Privileges for You and Your Family + Health Benefits + 401(k) + Employee Stock Purchase Plan + Training & Professional Development + Tuition & Professional Certification Reimbursement + Rewards & Incentives + Base Salary Range: $124,600 to $168,200. The range is applicable for the labor market where the role is intended to be hired.
