Senior Solutions Engineer

We are seeking a driven, talented, and creative Senior Solutions Engineer to join our Digital Services Team. This hybrid position is based out of our manufacturing facility in Bristol, RI. The Senior Solutions Engineer will combine their strong engineering background with their simulation experience to develop and implement powerful tools. The Senior Solutions Engineer will support our technical team to gain insights, identify and analyze trends, and provide creative, high performance sealing solutions. The Senior Solutions Engineer is also expected to be seen as a leader who will support, train, and develop others within the group. The success of the Senior Solutions Engineer will lead to time savings in design, innovative new sealing solutions, and influence our long-term technical and business strategy.

Duties include:
•-----Lead projects focusing on part design, process design, and materials selection as they pertain to the manufacturing of critical engineered components such as spring-energized seals, metal cased lip seals, metal seals, etc.
•-----Lead engineering services (includes both simulation and testing) and interface with customers and our internal commercial teams.
•-----Develop advanced digital engineering tools leveraging machine learning and AI.
•-----Lead projects in the areas of design assessment by simulation, simulation tool and method development, and simulation engineering services, which includes but is not limited to, scope definition, model construction, model analysis and debugging, model parameterization, data modeling and analysis, result processing, and presenting findings in written and oral formats.
•-----Collaborate effectively with R&D and engineering colleagues, product and marketing managers, application engineers, DSMs and external customers.
•-----Support proposing projects and programs vital to the R&D direction of the group.
•-----Focus on expanding our engineering services offering and growing our testing services capabilities.
• Work on model development and data generation for engineering computation programs.
• Coordinate the roll-out of simulation engineering services by establishing cost guidelines, marketing material, case studies, communication and training material and lead on the testing service capabilities development.
• Participate in TechDays and meetings with customers to promote and explain our simulation capabilities.

•-----BS Degree with 12+ years of experience, or MS with 7+ years of experience, or PhD with 3+ years of experience. Area of study in Material Science, Mechanical Engineering, or other related disciplines
•------3+ years of hands on experience with simulation, materials, and manufacturing processes in an industrial or research setting
•-----Expertise in numerical simulation, particularly with FEM, and statistical design as it relates to part design, mechanical behavior and composites systems
•------Experience with Abaqus, Ansys, COMSOL, Python and web-based application development etc.
•-----Knowledge of engineered polymers (blends, process, mechanics etc.)
•-----Must possess a body of technical work commensurate with their years of experience including but not limited to: demonstration of familiarity with mathematical models, high performance materials properties and testing, simulation tools and software, data analysis, and drawing conclusions based on a collection of basic data and interpretation, IP, Patents, and technical documents
•-----Demonstrated ability to give and receive constructive feedback
•-----Experience in SolidWorks and AutoCad to design parts preferred

Certain states require pay information be provided in job postings. Saint-Gobain aims to deliver a comprehensive Total Rewards package to support our employees’ wellbeing and help improve daily life for themselves and their families. We believe in the importance of pay transparency in what we offer prospective candidates and provide the national pay range for this position, which is $89,500 to $138,500 per year, however, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount is 12% of base salary based on company and individual performance measures. The Total Target Cash range (base pay and annual bonus) for this position, is $100,200 to $155,100. Bonus payments are part of variable compensation and by nature can vary based on company and individual performance and is not a guarantee.
