JOB SUMMARY:
As a Sourcing Lead, you will be responsible for supporting the strategy development and implementation for assigned categories in alignment with the broader Commodity Strategy. You will manage the supply base to ensure that all suppliers meet our critical customers’ requirements based on: Delivery, Quality, New Product Integration, Cost Competitiveness and Total Cost of Ownership.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supplier Relationship:
• Manage current and new suppliers’ relationships to ensure sufficient communication and alignment between the suppliers and Polaris.
• Leading the analysis and implementation of supply agreements and LTAs.
• Lead and support localization efforts through supplier identification, vetting, and on-boarding processes in alignment with category strategy
• Participate in supplier site visits, supplier negotiations, and competitive market analysis to secure contractual commitments to achieve longer-term cost savings and technology requirements
• Initiate request for proposal and quote for new parts and part revisions to approved suppliers based on defined commodity strategy and propose supplier selections for assigned commodity.
• Evaluate supplier capability and fit based on input from cross-functional teams such as Operations, Engineering, New Product Development and New Product Introductions.
• Manage and improve supplier’s scorecard to meet internal metrics. • Manage technical specifications, drawing and material analysis. Commodity Strategy:
• Execute year over year vision for the commodity, taking into account input from the internal and external customers, procurement-sourcing goals, risk, future growth plans.
• Support category teams for short, mid and long-term initiatives to align with budget and long range planning commitments.
• Analyze and implement compliance procedures to meet legal requirements between Polaris and external suppliers. Sourcing Priority Management:
• Based on the commodity strategy and goals, establish individual supplier cost reduction approaches and quantifiable targets. Then work with suppliers to achieve those targets.
• Utilize tools like: fact-based negotiation, should cost modeling, and competitive market analysis to initiate Page 2 of 2 FO-RH-002 Rev.0 cost reduction projects, landed cost, total cost of ownership and inventory management.
• Support supplier quality function in determining root cause, necessary containment and counter measure activities for quality related issues.
• Manage supplier capabilities, lead-times, and capacity to ensure on-time delivery of components to support production schedules.
• To provide support on the supply chain • Conducts make vs. buy analysis. Prepares and solicits requests for quotes and proposals.
• Lead coordination of resources and schedules between multiple departments to assist in the development, launch, production, and continuation support of production vehicles from multiple facilities.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EDUCATION:
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration or any Engineering
• 8+ years of purchasing, procurement, supply chain, project leadership experience • Bilingual – Spanish/English is a must-.
• Outstanding interpersonal communication skills (both oral and written) at all levels
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft products
• Effective negotiation, decision making and problem-solving skills.
• Highly organized and effective in managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Ability to professionally represent Polaris by developing productive working relationships with suppliers.
• Capable of reading and interpreting engineering documentation and technical data.
• Fundamental knowledge of MAPICS MRP and web-based business systems desired.
• APICS CPIM and/or ISM C.P.M./A.P.P. desired. • Knowledge of Project Management tools and ability to assist in tasks assigned by Project Managers.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
• Position will be based at Apodaca, NL.
• Fast-paced office environment, Hybrid
• 25% travel may be required
