We are hiring an experienced senior professional to join a dynamic team within Lenovo’s Global Procurement organization which is part of Lenovo’s Global Supply Chain. This team provides support to internal stakeholders and business owners for their software requirements for Lenovo’s PC and Smart Device division. The team collectively manages over $3B in software spend on an annual basis and has an active portfolio of over 50 suppliers including industry leaders such as Microsoft, Google, Adobe, Dolby, McAfee, and Absolute. The team is evenly divided geographically between the USA and China, and the team works with stakeholders in all Geographies around the world. This role is for a Global Commodity Manager position focusing on new software AI technologies and other emerging software technologies.
Responsibilities:
Support high-volume supplier management and cross-functional communication. Support Business Units and Segments with industry-aligned strategies. Ensure ongoing supply and cost support. Collaborate with suppliers, Alliances, Geography teams, Finance, and Cost teams for continuous improvements. Analyze complex scenarios and anticipate industry trends (including digital transformation or AI models). Implement process improvements in Procurement operations. Utilize planning and cost systems to achieve financial targets. Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to secure favorable terms and conditions. Monitor supplier performance and address any issues or discrepancies promptly. Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures as well as relevant regulations and standardsBasic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business, Supply Chain Management or related field 7+ years of relevant professional experience in Procurement, Software, or a related field.Preferred Qualifications:
General understanding of Software developmentPreferred location is Raleigh-Durham area Experience working with Contracts and/or Procurement Experience with emerging AI technologies, concepts, and business models.
