Senior Sourcing Program Manager

What We Need  

The Senior Sourcing Program Manager leads key sourcing & procurement optimization initiatives, while overseeing supplier changes for material, process, and product manufacturing to ensure continuity. Supplier changes responsibilities include program and project planning, resource assessment, risk mitigation, defining project scope, and managing budgets.  You will prioritize supplier change requests, while advocating supplier product changes in partnership with business objectives. The role involves leading ongoing programs, reporting project progress to cross-functional partners, while developing and implementing strategic sourcing continuous improvement programs. As a Senior Sourcing Program Manager, you will design & implement sourcing and procurement processes & programs which drive cost, quality, risk, continuity, and timing optimization while engaging with cross-functional teams. 

 

What we do  

Our global sourcing, procurement and third-party supplier team develop innovative category management strategies in collaboration with the business. The team focuses on strategic third-party partner agreements and help support supplier relationship management, commercial and financial pricing models for overall supplier performance.  

 

What You’ll Do  

Drive multiple programs driving cost, quality, and timing requirements to optimize sourcing and procurement business operations. 

Engage with cross-functional teams (finance, SIOP, R&D, manufacturing, quality, and installation project management) to lead project execution. 

Generate and maintain project timelines, milestones, and action items for complex sourcing projects. 

Assign and prioritize supplier change requests based off category to ensure timely closure and appropriate management of requests. 

Provide strategic leadership in category management, strategic sourcing, manufacturing, quality, product development, installation, and R&D for process development and program cross-functional buy-in. 

Lead and support various sourcing excellence programs including Supplier Relationship Management, cost savings program, contract tool, system/tool optimization, various process-development, and associated functional training. 

Advocate for supplier product changes adhering to company standards for quality, timeliness, business continuity, and cost-effectiveness. 

Develop, define, and launch Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) with associated processes for sourcing and procurement programs. 

Partner on the development of reporting and metric visualization to convey project milestones and bottlenecks in multiple programs and projects. 

Define annual program management goals and targets, drive continuous improvement to those targets, and hold internal and external stakeholders accountable to said goals and targets.  

Serve as a thought-leader for continuous improvement programs and project ideation through being a strong cross-functional partner and understanding business project opportunities that can be lead by the sourcing and procurement function  

 

What You’ll Need  

Bachelor's Degree; Supply Chain, Logistics, Program Management, Business Management, or other relevant field required; Master's degree preferred.  

Minimum of 8 years of Program Management, Operations, Supply Chain, Sourcing and/or Category Management experience.  

Exposure to Lean Six Sigma process preferred; PMP Certification preferred.  

Knowledge of timeline management, project financials, and risk management principals. 

Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to interact with all levels of employees and leaders.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 

Exemplary organizational skills. 

Strong influencing skills. 

  

Our Environment 

Up to 20% of travel may be required.  

Employees must have a valid driver’s license and the ability to drive and/or fly to client and other customer locations.  

The employee is responsible for owning a credit card and managing expenses personally to be reimbursed on a bi-weekly basis.  

This role can be 100% remote but will be expected to have a regular presence at Symbotic’s Wilmington, MA headquarters, the cadence of which you will align with your manager on.
