Minimum of five (5) years' of purchasing experience and Bachelor’s Degree in from an accredited institution in a business, engineering or accounting discipline Minimum of two (2) years’ of material forecasting using an MRP software system or equivalent systemMust have a strong data analytics background with the ability to create complex Excel formulas and reportsMust have a deep understanding of material requirement planningMust have proven experience as a material planner or supply chain analystComfortable with shop floor conditions and at times locating work orders, and/or parts. Majority of tasks will be done in an office setting, but some shop floor interaction is necessary. Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Preferred Qualifications:
Three years buying experience in commodities such as CNC machining, raw material, sheet metal fabrication, stamping, investment casting, forging, paint, plate and other coatings.Physical Demands:

Summary
Position is responsible for cost reduction activities within specified commodities and optimizing the buying process for those commodities as well as evaluating and forecasting material requirements using MRP software systems, to determine the necessary purchasing quantities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for sourcing lowest-cost, best lead time material, products, and/or services.Responsible for forecasting raw material, to save on cost and lead time, to ensure the correct quantity of purchases.Responsible for reading MRP data to ensure record of inventory aligns with physical stockResponsible for developing negotiation strategies and bringing forth new negotiation ideas to the table. Responsible for owning negotiation projects and bringing negotiation results to fruition.Responsible for analyzing MRP data to ensure it aligns with the correct demand and with the production capability on the shop floorResponsible for working cross-functionally with operational teams to question and ensure MRP face-value data reflects the actuality of anticipated consumptionResponsible for managing reduction of inventory, by reviewing inventory to use toward future purchases.Responsible for conducting regular reviews of material demand and supply patterns to identify trends and make necessary purchasing adjustmentsResponsible for preparing and presenting detailed reports on material and inventory managementResponsible for developing scorecards and improvement plans for suppliers, to share with suppliers at routine business reviews.Main procurement category will be raw material metals, but can also include capital projects, operating and maintenance supplies, contractors, engineering, maintenance and service contracts, and third party outsourcing of production processes or professional services.Responsible for working with the other regional and locations buyers to coordinate like buying activities and to implement optimized processes using the proper procurement tools and technology.Responsible for weighing appropriate risk factors when making buy/supply decisions.Responsible for compliance with all applicable Howmet standards and local regulations for the location. Maybe required to provide data for procurement related ASAT, customer ISO and other audit protocols required by the business.Accountable for any corrective actions generated by audits affecting buying activities at that location.Keeps work area clean, safe and in an orderly fashion on a daily basis.Performs other tasks of equal or lesser skill as required.
