Senior Sourcing Specialist
Responsibilities
Develop/ Execute Commodity and Supply Base Optimization Strategies and plans. Perform detailed research and analysis of global commodity purchases, supply bases and other spend data. Develop detailed, comprehensive, long term global commodity strategies aligned with corporate product and manufacturing strategies. Develop/communicate global implementation plans with date, deliverable, and resource requirements. Manage and execute commodity strategies, new product introductions or phase in/out of components or changes and follow through to successful completion with interruption of supply or compromise to product quality. Evaluate existing and potential suppliers, search for new suppliers. Monitor supplier production and warranty parts per million performance and the supplier rate system. Act with high sense of urgency in correcting supply interruption occurrences. Search for new suppliers, visit their facilities with the appropriate cross functional support and evaluate their potential. Initiate and execute cost savings projects and request for quotation. Review annual spend with Purchasing Analyst, Subsidiary and Branch Purchasing personnel and Commodity Manager to develop cost savings projects and priorities. Develop and qualify material, components, processes, assemblies, and suppliers. Develop business relationship with suppliers. Prepare and plan for all key negotiation with suppliers, Negotiations with price, payments terms, legal terms, statement of work, level of efforts, cost technical specifications, logistics, risk sharing, warranty, services, letters of intent, memorandums of understanding and contracts are required activities. Develop and implement replenishment strategies. Attend department, staff and management meetings, initiate and lead meetings to discuss sourcing, supplier performance, and qualifications.Qualifications
4-year college degree, preferably in Business or Engineering with an emphasis in Supply Management or Operations with 5-8 years’ experience in Materials, Supply Management, or Operations Non-degree considered if 12+ years of related experience along with a high school diploma or GED. A high level of interpersonal, leadership, teamwork and negotiation skills are required. Blueprint reading and computer skills are necessary for this position. Ability to travel extensively on sourcing trips may be required at certain intervals.
